October 8, 2017 (Corvallis, Ore.) - The San Diego State men’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback against Oregon State at Lorenz Field on Sunday. The Aztecs fall to 4-8-0 (0-4-0 Pac-12) on the season, while the Beavers notch their first conference win of the season and improve to 4-7-0 (1-2-0 Pac-12).

October 7, 2017 (Fresno) - The San Diego State swimming and diving team capped a strong weekend performance, finishing the Chick-fil-A Invitational in second place (677 points) among five teams on Saturday afternoon. The Aztecs finished ahead of four Mountain West programs, topping Nevada (654.5), Fresno State (518), and San Jose State (460), while 2016-17 national runner-up Cal recorded 1318.5 points to bring home first-place honors.

October 6, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State and San Jose State played an exciting 110 minutes, but neither team scored as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Aztecs (6-6-1) and Spartans (6-5-1) knotted at 3-1-1 in the Mountain West, which is tied for third in the league standings with Wyoming and two points behind the conference leader New Mexico.

October 6, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State men’s tennis team made its home debut Friday at the 2017 Aztec Fall Invitational Friday, with 10 of the squad’s 11 players seeing action at Aztec Tennis Center.

Sophomore Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain) and redshirt freshman Daniel de la Torre (Calexico, Calif.) were the big winners on opening day of SDSU’s annual tournament, posting two victories apiece in singles competition, while each emerged triumphant in doubles.

October 5, 2017 (Malibu) - The San Diego State women’s swimming and diving team took a 133-74 decision against Pepperdine at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool on Thursday afternoon.

“We mixed it up a bit today. We tried different athletes in different races,” said head coach Mike Shrader. “It provides a little bit of variety, and with the team having a lot of individual medley swimmers, that will hopefully make them stronger going forward.”

September 30, 2017 (Sacramento) - San Diego State cross country raced to a ninth-place finish at Sacramento’s Capital Cross Challenge (6K) on Saturday, led by senior Lily Seynaeve. 

Seynaeve placed 17th after crossing the finish line in 21:32.0, just two seconds off her 6K collegiate best of 21:30.00, which she set earlier this year at the UC Riverside Invitational. This is the second consecutive meet in which Seynaeve has finished among the race’s top 20 Division I participants after placing eighth at the UNLV Invitational (5K) last week.

September 29, 2017 (San Diego) – Former San Diego State University assistant basketball coach Anthony “Tony” Bland helped propel the Aztecs to the NCAA tournament for all four years at SDSU from 2009 to 2013, before moving on to coach at the University of Southern California.  But this week, the U.S.  Attorney’s Office in New York’s southern district announced the arrest of four Division I Coaches including Bland and six others in a college basketball and corruption scheme.
