August 29, 2017 (San Diego) - There's just four more days left until the San Diego State Aztecs football team takes the field again and men's soccer is back in town for their home opener.  Men's soccer head coach Lev Kirshner and two seniors, forward Jeroen Meefout and midfielder Thom Van Den Berg, football head coach Rocky Long, senior safety Trey Lomax and junior quarterback Christian Chapman discussed all that and more at this week's press conference.

August 27, 2017 (West Point, N.Y.) - The San Diego State men’s soccer team earned its first win of the season thanks to a golden goal scored by redshirt senior Dallin Cutler in the 95th minute to break a 1-1 tie in the team’s first-ever meeting with Vermont. With the win, SDSU ends its east coast swing with a 1-1 record on the young season.

August 26, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State volleyball team split two matches on Saturday at the Aztec Invitational, sweeping Portland State (25-19, 25-22, 25-17) in an early afternoon match, before suffering the opposite fate against CSUN in the nightcap (15-25, 17-25, 24-26). With the results, SDSU completed the weekend with a 1-2 record in its season-opening tournament.

August 25, 2017 (West Point, N.Y.) - The San Diego State men’s soccer team fell victim to a 100th minute goal by Army West Point forward Rex Epps in its season opener on Friday night.

“We faced a very good and motivated team on their home opener,” said head coach Lev Kirshner. “They were difficult to breakdown and willed the game-winner as our boys battled hard to clear the ball multiple times.”

The honor comes just under two weeks after being named to the 2017 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List, known as the most prestigious individual award in college soccer.

August 17, 2017 (Portland, Ore.) - San Diego State’s Haleigh Krause (Eugene, Ore.) captured medalist honors at the Oregon Women’s Stroke Play Championship on Wednesday after posting a combined 3-under-par 141 at Rose City Golf Club. The Aztec rising senior led wire-to-wire, carding rounds of 72-69 to become the lone competitor in the 47-player field to finish the 27th annual tournament below par.

It is the third preseason All-America team that Penny has made as a kick returner as he was also a second-team honoree by Phil Steele Magazine and a third-team pick by Athlon Sports.

August 14, 2017 (San Diego) - Today's San Diego State football practice was canceled after an outbreak of chicken pox among some players, ECM news partner 10 News reports.

Three players began showing symptoms on Saturday, SDSU Senior Associate Athletic Director of Communications and Media Mike May told 10 News.
