COUNTY REPORTS RECORD COVID CASES, URGES SAN DIEGANS TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS

January 10, 2022 (San Diego) - The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency is reporting record numbers of new COVID-19 cases, even when factoring in that more than a third of the results from the previous three days are due to reporting delays from last week.

AS COUNTY’S VACCINATION RATE CLIMBS, COVID DEATHS DROP SHARPLY AMONG THOSE WHO ARE VACCINATED

October 29, 2021 (San Diego) – San Diego County’s latest COVID-19 update provided Oct. 27 reveals that 90.2% of all residents countywide are at least partially vaccinated and 81.5% are fully vaccinated.  But 27 of the 28 deaths in the past week from COVID-19 were among people not fully vaccinated, further demonstrating the effectiveness of vaccines at protecting people from severe COVID cases.

COVID TESTS DOUBLE OVER PAST WEEK; NEARLY ALL HOSPITALIZATION AND DEATHS LOCALLY ARE UNVACCINATED PEOPLE

September 15, 2021 (San Diego) – Deaths from COVID-19 tripled over the past week (Sept. 8-14) to 59, the highest number during the current surge. Since March, over 96% of hospitalizations were unvaccinated patients and nearly 89% of deaths were people who had not been vaccinated.

NEARLY 68% OF COUNTY RESIDENTS OVER AGE 12 HAVE HAD AT LEAST ONE VACCINE

May 26, 2021 (San Diego) – San Diego’s successful COVID-19 vaccine rollout has now resulted in over 3.57 million doses.  Over 67.9% of all San Diego County residents age 12 and up have now received at least one shot and more than 52.5% are fully vaccinated, according to the County Health and Human Services department.

NEW CONSENT FORM FOR MINORS GETTING COVID-19 VACCINE WITHOUT GUARDIAN

May 14, 2021 (San Diego) - Starting Saturday, youths ages 12-17 who want to get a COVID-19 vaccination in San Diego County without a parent present will have to provide a signed form to show their parent or legal guardian has given permission.
