November 21, 2011 (El Cajon) – While the book industry abounds with change and uncertainty, one local publisher continues its holiday tradition that has spanned over a quarter of a century. Sunbelt Publications invites the public to its warehouse for a celebration of literature in the holiday season.

On Thursday, December 8 from 4:30 to 8:30, Sunbelt Publications will host its annual holiday party with the 2011 theme: Eat, Drink, and be Literary.

 San Diego’s global humanitarian organization work offers holiday celebration for families in need

December 2, 2011 (El Cajon) – The East County Transitional Living Center is offering Christmas trees and firewood for sale at 1527 East Main Street in El Cajon.

All proceeds will be used to help homeless people in East County. Douglas and Noble fir trees are available in 5 to 7 foot heights—with no tree over $40.

December 1, 2011 (Alpine) – Kamps Propane is teaming up with Natural Instincts and Alpine Albertson’s for a doggone festive event for East county families and their pets. On December 10 from 2-7 p.m., stop by for free Christmas photos with Santa as well as prize drawings, free pet treats, apple cider, hot chocolate and popcorn.

December 1, 2011 (Alpine) -- The Alpine Woman’s Club will hold its Seventh Annual Christmas in Alpine Holiday Home Tour on Sunday December 4 from 10a.m. to 4p.m. “You will have an opportunity to stroll through four stunning homes which will be exquisitely decorated for the holidays,” said Carlette Anderson with the Alpine Women’s Club. Also, visit the new Queen of Angles Catholic Church and enjoy food and refreshments at 4p.m. at the Historic Town Hall.

November 21, 2011 (El Cajon)-- “This is my passion,” says Hannah Blume, 16, co-owner of the new Cowgirl Bling store in Parkway Plaza. 

Her mom,  Cheryl Smith, helped Hannah open the shop to bring glitzy Western wear to East County—and to provide a better future for Hannah, a student at El Capitan High School in Lakeside.
