June 25, 2015 (El Cajon) – Nationwide, over 400,000 rape kits have never been tested, including many right here in our region.  Yet testing every rape kit can produce undeniably dramatic results.

EL CAJON MAN MISSING, VEHICLE FOUND NEAR SUNRISE HIGHWAY

 

April 9, 2015 (San Diego’s East County)—A search is under way for Isac Molina, 27, an El Cajon resident, paramedic and father of two.  Family reported Monday that Molina left home Sunday at 3 p.m. “on his own volition appearing very despondent,” said Lt. Frank La Haye with the El Cajon Police. He is considered a missing person at risk.

EAST COUNTY CHURCHES DONATE TRAUMA KITS TO EL CAJON POLICE

February 5, 2015 (El Cajon)--A group of 25 churches in the East County have collectively contributed dollars to purchase 45 potentially life-saving trauma kits for the El Cajon Police Department.

August 10, 2014 (San Diego's East County) - Robert Gehr snapped this photo(s) during National Night Out on August 5 at the El Cajon Police Department.  “Low civilian turnout was a bit disappointing, yet that meant no crowds,” he writes. “Games for the kids, face painting as well. SWAT display, mini fire truck rides, hot dogs, Sheriff mounted patrol, K-9 and SWAT demonstrations, and lots of camaraderie amongst Police personnel.” This annual event was also free.”

MOTORCYCLE ENFORCEMENT OPERATION IN EL CAJON FEB. 21

 

February 11, 2014 (El Cajon)--The El Cajon Police Department will be conducting a specialized Motorcycle Safety Enforcement Operation on February 21 in an effort to lower deaths and injuries.  Extra officers will be on duty patrolling areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes occur.  

Officers will be looking for violations made by drivers and riders alike that can lead to motorcycle crashes.  They will be cracking down on both those operating regular vehicles and motorcycles that are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, making illegal turns, or any other dangerous violation.

APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2012 EL CAJON CITIZEN'S ACADEMY

 
January 30, 2012 (El Cajon) -- The El Cajon Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2012 Citizen's Police Academy. The Citizen's Police Academy is an eight week program that allows members of the community to learn how their police department functions from the inside - out.

FATAL COLLISION IN EL CAJON REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION

 
December 23, 2011 (El Cajon) -- At approximately 6:02 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, El Cajon Police Officers and Heartland Fire & Rescue crews responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the roadway, in the 1200 block of Jamacha Road,  in El Cajon.
