SWEETWATER VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE RETURNS HOME

 

Team will host coming home party on September 1st

August 31, 2015 (Bonita)--After a heartbreaking end to their Little League World Series run, the boys of the Sweetwater Valley Little League just landed in San Diego tonight.

The team’s run ended on Thursday night when they lost to Pearland Little League of Texas 9-7 in eight innings.  They are hosting a coming home party at the Sweetwater Valley Little League complex tomorrow, September 1st

Team advances in LLWS standings, will play Thursday

August 26, 2015 (South Williamsport, PA) --With a whopping 11-3 victory Tuesday night, the Sweetwater Valley Little League team shows no signs of slowing its roll. Sweetwater defeated Bowling Green East, the team from Kentucky representing the Great Lakes region, for the second time in the Little League World Series, following a big 14-2 win over the same foe on Friday night.

READER'S EDITORIAL: BINATIONAL LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYERS - LESSON TAUGHT

September 27, 2013 (San Diego) – The greater San Diego-Tijuana region has been taught a lesson by a group of young people. The little league players from Chula Vista (Eastlake) and Tijuana placed 2nd and 3rd in the Little League World Series (LLWS) – it may not sound like it, as first and second place would have been greater, but what they accomplished is historic in many respects.

HOMECOMING PLANNED THURSDAY FOR EAST LAKE LITTLE LEAGUE STARS

August 28, 2013 (Otay) -- At the start of Little League season, every young player dreams of earning a trip to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to play in the Little League World Series.  For  12 young players from San Diego’s own Eastlake Little League in Otay, that dream became a reality. 

On Thursday at 6 p.m., a big homecoming is planned for the U.S. champion Eastlake All Stars team at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre.

September 2, 2012 (La Mesa) – The La Mesa Historical Society will hold its fall History Roundtable event on September 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Grossmont Community College, Room 26-220, 8800 Grossmont College Dr., El Cajon.  The topic for the event is “La Mesa Youth Baseball World Champions” which focuses on La Mesa’s astounding your baseball success in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
