SDSU POLICE INVESTIGATING PARKING STRUCTURE INCIDENT

 

December 10, 2013 (San Diego) – San Diego State University Police are investigating an incident that took place in a parking structure at 5:00 AM on December 5.  A man was parking his motorcycle when two male suspects allegedly ran toward him, one of them displaying a handgun. The victim saw the suspects coming toward him and drove away.  The victim was not injured.

The first suspect is described as an African American male, unknown age, about 6 feet tall, dark curly neck length hair, clean shaven, wearing a grey short sleeved shirt, shorts, and armed with a dark colored handgun.

SDSU CRIME ALERT

 

November 2, 2013 (San Diego) – San Diego State University campus police have issued an alert regarding a suspicious incident yesterday at 1 p.m.  A man approached a female near tbe Aztec Center/Cuicacalli pedestrian bridge and asked to use her cell phone.  She twice refused and he ran away on foot.  Although a crime did not occur, this situation is consistent with the recent iPhone thefts reported to SDSU Police.

CELL PHONE THEFTS IN SDSU CAMPUS AREA

 

September 25, 2013 (San Diego) – Campus police have issued an alert for students following two thefts of cell phones at 3:30 this afternoon. 

In one case, the suspects approached and asked to use the victim’s cell phone. The suspects started to dial the phone and then ran off with it.  In the second case, the phone was taken by force.  The suspects fled the scene in a white or champagne colored four-door sedan, possibly a Lexus.  The victims were not injured.

ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING AT GUNPOINT NEAR SAN DIEGO STATE

 

May 11, 2013 (San Diego) – An armed gunman tried to abduct a women in the College area shortly after midnight  According to an alert sent by San Diego State University police, the suspect approached the victim in the 5800 block of Linda Paseo at 12:18 a.m. and asked if she was alone. He displayed a black handgun and told the victim to “get in the car.”

She refused and was not injured. The suspect was last seen walking toward College Avenue. He may be driving a black Ford F-150.  He is describe as a white, 6 feet 1 inches tall, wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans, a tan jacket, possibly white shoes, and rectangular glasses.

MAN GRABS WOMAN NEAR SDSU, POLICE WARN

 

April 21, 2013 (San Diego) – San Diego State University (SDSU) police have issued an alert to warn students of a man who grabbed a woman, 20, who was walking in the south alley of 5600 Montezuma Road just off campus this morning at 3 a.m.  The suspect is described as an Asian male, tall with spiked hair,  in  his mid-20s, wearing black-framed glasses, a white shirt and light jeans.  He fled in a black four-door BMW toward Campanile Drive.

According to police, the suspect  walked up to the victim, grabbed her arm and leg and attempted to pull her. She suffered no injuries and no weapon was used in the incident.

BEER BASH: SDSU STUDENT INJURED IN ASSAULT

March, 13, 2013 (SDSU) – Giving new meaning to the term “beer bash,” A resident of Villa Alvarado Residence Hall at San Diego State University was struck on the head with an empty beer bottle last night. 

The incident occurred around 9:15 when the victim heard shouting outside his front door. He opened the door to see what was going on and was immediately struck with the bottle, causing a laceration on top of his head, according to campus police.

SDSU ISSUES WARNING OVER VIOLENT ASSAULT, ROBBERY IN COLLEGE AREA

 

January 1, 2013 (San Diego)--San Diego State University Police have issued an alert warning of a violent assault that occurred at 2:40 a.m. in the 5700 block of Hardy Avenue.  Five African-American men in a silver 4-door BMW approached a male victim and attacked him without provocation, kicking and punching him before stealing his white iPhone, according to police.

The suspects, all about six feet tall, wore blue jeans. One suspect wore a white T-shirt with orange sleeves.  They fled east in the vehicle after the crime.

SUSPECT SOUGHT IN COLLEGE AREA SEXUAL BATTERIES

May 9, 2012 (San Diego) --San Diego Police Department detectives from Eastern Division are investigating a series of sexual batteries that occurred in the College area this morning.     

Today, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., a male suspect groped four women as they walked on College area streets.  A fourth woman saw the suspect looking into her window.

PEDESTRIAN STABBED IN COLLEGE AREA

 

March 3, 2011 (San Diego)—A 19-year-old man walking on 55th Street and Mary Lane Drive in the SDSU college area was stabbed last night around 11:20 p.m. According to Office Delimitros with San Diego Police, two Hispanic men in dark clothing, both who looked to be under 30, approached the victim. One suspect produced a knife and demanded money. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed in the shoulder.

June 20, 2010 (San Diego) – San Diego Police seek two African-American men in a sedan who accosted a 31-year-old woman in the 5000 block of College Avenue near San Diego State University at 6:35 p.m. last night. One of the men asked the victim if he could use her cell phone. When she approached the car, he grabbed her phone and the driver drove away, dragging the woman about 60 feet.

FOUR SEXUAL ASSAULTS, ROBBERIES IN SDSU AREA

 

 

March 2, 2010 (SDSU) – Four reported sexual assaults have occurred in the San Diego State University area in the past two weeks, including one case where the suspect reportedly broke in to the victim’s home. In addition, a man was robbed at gunpoint and another was beaten during a robbery on campus.
