LA MESA HEALTH CARE LIBRARY TO HOST FREE MEETING ON MEDICINES ON FEBRUARY 27TH

February 1, 2019 (La Mesa) – The Grossmont Healthcare District’s Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library, 9001 Wakarusa St. in La Mesa, will host “A Healthy Outlook on Aging, Medicines, Alcohol, Tobacco” from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27.  The program is part of the library’s “Wellness Wednesday” series, normally held on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served. Advance RSVP is not necessary. Handouts will be available.

September 25, 2017 (La Mesa) – Among the 3.3 million San Diego County residents, 13.4 percent are over age 65, and that number is expected to steadily increase. To serve this growing population segment, Aging and Independence Services (AIS), a County of San Diego social services agency, offers nearly 30 programs and services to older adults, people with disabilities and their family members.

The Wests are also philanthropists and committed to successful aging. They have established a nonprofit institute that funds research into successful aging and develops solutions to support seniors and their quality of life. The Gary and Mary West Health Institute recently shared some interesting findings about aging.

May 11, 2012 -- The San Diego Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)
is offering an exclusive self-guided tour of five recently remodeled residences on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The tour, subtitled “Spaces Re-Imagined and Re-Invented,” will feature designers at each location to discuss design challenges and solutions and answer questions. Tickets, priced at $25, are available at www.ASIDSanDiego.org. Tickets will also be available for purchase at all tour sites the day of the tour and group discounts are available.
