November 2, 2017 (Las Vegas) - Second-seeded San Diego State used a 48th-minute goal by Aliyah Utush and a stellar defensive effort to dismiss third-seeded Boise State, 1-0, in the Mountain West semifinal round Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas. The win secured the Aztecs a spot in the MW championship game and upped their record to 11-7-2.

November 2, 2017 (Berkeley) - Despite a standout performance from senior goalkeeper Adam Allmaras, the San Diego State men’s soccer team started its final road weekend of the season with a 1-0 loss at California on Thursday afternoon. The Aztecs fall to 5-12 (0-8 Pac-12), while Cal, which is receiving votes in the national rankings by United Soccer Coaches, improves to 10-5 (5-3 Pac-12).

November 1, 2017 (Los Angeles) - In a whirlwind of a postseason, the Houston Astros have won the 2017 World Series in a seven-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Astros toppled the Red Sox and Yankees--two of the toughest teams in the AL East--to get to the Big Show, while the Dodgers overcame two of the toughest customers the National League had to offer:  the Diamondbacks and Cubs.

The teams traded games in the series, with the Astros winning the series 4-3.  The biggest game was game 5, which the Astros won in 10 innings on Alex Bregman's RBI single to give the Astros the 13-12 win.

October 29, 2017 (Honolulu) - Rashaad Penny ran 30 times for a career-high 253 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday night and San Diego State beat Hawaii 28-7.

Penny led the way with runs on all six plays of a 99-yard drive when the Aztecs (7-2, 3-2 Mountain West Conference) broke away early in the fourth quarter.

October 23, 2017 (San Diego) - Fresh off a pair of impressive victories over Boise State and Utah State, the San Diego State volleyball team collected two Mountain West awards on Monday as Gabi Peoples (Beaverton, Ore.) was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Devyn Pritchard (Temecula, Calif.) was selected Defensive Player of the Week. The two accolades were the first career honors for the Aztec teammates.
