PEDESTRIAN STRUCK AND KILLED IN LAKESIDE

December 16, 2020 (Lakeside) – Eduardo Hernandez, 68, of Lakeside, was struck by a vehicle on December 4 while crossing Woodside Ave., just west of Prospect Ave. in Lakeside.

Paramedics transported him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where despite aggressive resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead of his injuries. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

TRAFFIC COLLISION IN LA MESA LEAVES TWO HOSPITALIZED

October 2, 2015 (LA MESA) - After a three-car collision Wednesday afternoon on the I-8 westbound, two drivers were hospitalized, one of them with severe injuries, KUSI reports.

3 YOUNG PEOPLE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN HEAD-ON CRASH ON HIGHWAY 67

June 27, 2015 (Ramona) – A 21-year-old Ramona man driving a new 2015  Honda Civic was struck head-on Friday night at 10:34 p.m. on State Route 67.  A Kia driven by a 16-year-old San Diego teen with a provisional driver’s license crossed the center line after the driver lost control.  The two drivers, along with a 16-year-old passenger in the Kia, all sustained serious injuries.

FUGITIVE TASK FORCE AGENTS SHOT FELONY SUSPECT IN ALPINE

March 11, 2015 (Alpine)--Agents from the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force were involved in a shooting Wednesday morning in Alpine. The agents were looking for a felony warrant suspect at 2157 Arnold Way. The warrant suspect entered a 2004 Ford Excursion and tried to flee, according to Lieutenant John Maryon with the Sheriff’s Homicide detail.

March 10, 2015 (Spring Valley ) – An altercation outside Sarita’s Taco Shop on Campo Road in Spring Valley early Monday led to a stabbing and gunshots fired, Sergeant David Toner with the Sheriff’s Department in Rancho San Diego reports.

LA MESA PEDESTRIAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION

 

January 10, 2014 (La Mesa)—A 56-year-old man walking with a cane up a steep sidewalk on Saranac Place to Thorne Drive was struck by a large pickup truck yesterday shortly before 7 a..m.  He suffered several broken bones and internal injuries, according to La Mesa Police.

TRUCK HITS, KILLS LAKESIDE MAN

 

August 30, 2014 (Lakeside)—An 18-year-old Lakeside man, Christian Nee, died August 17th shortly after his motorbike struck the rear of a truck on Sunview Drive in EL Cajon. He was taken by ambulance to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where despite aggressive medical intervention, he died shortly after arrival, of injuries to his head and torso, the Medical Examiner’s office reports.

MAN FOUND DEAD IN SAN CARLOS MAY BE HIT AND RUN VICTIM

 

April 25, 2014 (San Carlos) – Police believe that 52-year-old Jackie Clinton Jackson, Jr. may be a victim of a hit-and-run accident.  Jackson was found by a passerby unresponsive in the street between parked vehicles in the 8000 block of Beaver Lake Drive in San Diego’s San Carlos neighborhood on April 24.

FATAL ALPINE CRASH KILLS WOMAN, 22, INJURES MAN AND BABY

 

March 13, 2014 (Alpine) – A young woman driving a Jeep Cherokee at a high rate of speed lost control when she braked and swerved to avoid a slow-moving vehicle on I-8 west of Tavern Road in Alpine last night at 5:20 p.m., California Highway Patrol reports.  The Jeep plunged down an embankment, trapping her inside. She died at the scene.

SECOND WOMAN DIES AFTER BEING STRUCK BY VAN IN LA MESA

August 21, 2012 (La Mesa) – Two elderly women struck by a Chevrolet Express van while crossing Calle Verde in La Mesa on August 13 have died of their traumatic injuries.

Jean Gastelum, 77, passed away on August 16 at Sharp Memorial Hospital. Her friend, Dorothy Stephens, 83, was pronounced dead at the scene before a medical helicopter arrived.

Both women were residents of La Mesa.
