March 11, 2017 (Fullerton) - The San Diego State softball team swept a pair of games in convincing fashion Saturday at the Louisville Slugger Invitational at Cal State Fullerton. The Aztecs (15-9) defeated Eastern Michigan, 10-0, in five innings and then knocked off Longwood, 5-1.

March 10, 2017 (Las Vegas) - Colorado State has been the Aztecs’ Achilles heel this season.  A thorn in their side.  A bee in their bonnet.  Pick whatever idiom you want.  

But tonight was different.  Tonight, in the Mountain West semifinals, the Aztecs would avenge the past two meetings with the Rams.  At least, that’s what they planned on doing.  But it ended up not working so well.

March 10, 2017 (Las Vegas) - Having reached the Mountain West semifinals for the 10th consecutive season, San Diego State faces Colorado State on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. PT in the event’s second semifinal game.  

The Aztecs reached the semifinal round by rallying from a 21-point deficit to defeat UNLV for an 11th consecutive time, 62-52 in overtime and in possibly their best overall performance of the season, defeated Boise State 87-68.

March 9, 2017 (Fullerton) - The San Diego State softball team saw its four-game winning streak snapped in a 2-0 loss at Cal State Fullerton Thursday night at the Louisville Slugger Classic.

The game was a pitchers’ duel between Aztec (12-8) freshman Marissa Moreno (Torrance, Calif.) and Titan (10-11) senior transfer Kelsey Kessler. Moreno (6-3) allowed two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out five. Kessler (7-4), meanwhile, yielded just four hits and two walks in the complete game shutout, striking out four. SDSU junior Alex Formby (Orange, Calif.) relieved Moreno in the sixth and got the only batter she faced out.
