April 13, 2017 (San Diego) - Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) homered and drove in three runs to lead San Diego State to a 4-1 victory over New Mexico in the series opener Thursday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. It was the third consecutive win for the Aztecs (21-14, 5-5 MW).

WEST HILLS HIGH STADIUM GETS FACELIFT

April 13, 2017 (Santee) -- The first football stadium in the country with a two-toned, artificial playing surface will "field" a new look for the 2017-18 school year.

West Hills High School Stadium, which gained national attention with its one-of-a-kind, double-blue playing field, recently saw its old, worn field removed following nearly 10 seasons, to be replaced by a modern version of FieldTurf product for Wolf Pack athletics and other events.

April 12, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State athletic department honored 329 student-athletes Monday evening at its 23rd annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet in Montezuma Hall on the SDSU campus. In order to qualify as a scholar-athlete for the semester, a student-athlete must achieve at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA or a 3.20 semester GPA.

April 11, 2017 (San Diego) - Steve Fisher, San Diego State’s all-time winningest coach and the winningest coach in Mountain West history, announced today that he is retiring as the head basketball coach at SDSU. Fisher, 72, will continue to work at the University in a part-time capacity.

April 9, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State rallied for six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to overturn a one-run deficit as it defeated Nevada, 7-2, Sunday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium. With the victory, the Aztecs claimed the weekend series after splitting the first two contests and have won six of their eight games against the Wolf Pack in 2017.

April 9, 2017 (Tempe, Ariz.) - The San Diego State women’s golf team finished in a tie for 10th place at the PING/ASU Invitational on Sunday after shooting a collective 13-over-par 301 during the final round at Karsten Golf Course. With their score, the Aztecs completed the 41st annual tournament with a 54-hole total of 27-over 891, along with Missouri and LSU, on the par-72, 6,337-yard track.

April 9, 2017 (Reno, Nev.) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team traveled to Reno, Nev., this weekend for its first road conference match against the University of Nevada, but could not get past the Wolf Pack and ultimately fell 5-2 at the McArthur Tennis Center. Today’s loss puts the Aztecs at 0-2 in conference play and marks the team’s sixth straight loss.

April 8, 2017 (San Diego) - Dillan Shrum’s home run in the top of the 11th inning ended a 1-1 stalemate and propelled Nevada to a 3-1 victory over San Diego State Saturday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The two-run homer to right field was the first of the season for the freshman first baseman, who was responsible for driving in all three of the Wolf Pack’s runs on the day.

With their total, the Aztecs find themselves nine shots out of the top five with a 54-hole score of 14-over 590 heading into Sunday’s final round on the par-72, 6,337-yard layout.

April 8, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State used a four-run fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and went on to defeat Nevada, 6-3, Friday evening at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The win, coupled with New Mexico’s loss at San Jose State earlier in the day, moved the Aztecs to within one game of the league-leading Lobos in the conference standings.

April 7, 2017 (San Diego) - T-No. 14 San Diego State was outstanding on defense, received a career effort from goalkeeper Kate McDonnell and saw Caroline Israels score the game-winner in an 8-7 victory over ninth-ranked Pacific on Friday afternoon at Aztec Aquaplex. The win moved SDSU to 14-12 overall and 5-0 in the Golden Coast Conference, while UOP fell to 14-8 and 3-1 in league action.
