September 3, 2016 (Brea, Calif.,) - Christine Kent and Elaine Ribeiro finished in first and second place, respectively, at the Mark Covert Classic at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea on Saturday morning. Overall, the Aztecs finished in second place in a field of four teams.

September 3, 2016 (San Diego) - For the last week of preseason, the San Francisco 49ers traveled to Qualcomm amidst a hotbed of controversy surrounding quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the national anthem.  Tonight, Kaepernick, Eric Reid and Nate Boyer did not stand for the national anthem on Military Appreciation Night.

September 2, 2016 (San Diego) - Redshirt senior Travis Nicklaw scored on a penalty kick in the 61st minute on Friday to lift the No. 23 San Diego State men’s soccer team to a monumental 1-0 victory over top-ranked Akron in the team’s 2016 home opener at SDSU Sports Deck. With the win, the Aztecs remain unbeaten on the year at 2-0-1, while the Zips suffered their first defeat of the season, slipping to 2-1 overall.

Smith arrives on Montezuma Mesa after a prosperous four-year run with the junior rowing program at the Marina Aquatic Center in Marina Del Rey, Calif. She will be involved in all phases of the Aztec program on and off the water.

August 28, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State dropped close matches to Michigan State and Denver on Saturday as it concluded play at the season-opening 2016 Aztec Invitational. In the morning, the Aztecs fell to the Spartans in four sets (22-25, 20-25, 26-24, 21-25) and later that evening extended Denver to five sets (17-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 8-15) before coming up on the short end of a tight contest.
