SDSU ROWING COMPETES IN CREW CLASIC

March 27, 2021 (San Diego) - The Aztec rowing team competed in the annual San Diego Crew Classic on Mission Bay Saturday morning.

The racing was contested over two 1,500-meter legs, going in opposite directions in the Sea World Channel. GPS was used to determine each boat’s best average time. The Aztecs rowed head-to-head against USD and competed against No. 18 USC virtually in the second varsity eight with the Trojans racing on their home waters in the Port of Los Angeles and facing different conditions than the Aztecs and Toreros.

March 20, 2021 (Los Angeles) - The San Diego State rowing team competed at No. 16 USC Saturday morning. The Aztecs first varsity four boat beat the Trojans by 14 seconds while their second varsity eight came in just 1.6 seconds behind USC.

May 17, 2019 (Oklahoma City) - The San Diego State rowing team competed in the American Athletic Conference Championship Friday morning at the US Rowing National High Performance Center, where the Aztecs finished fifth in the conference as a team and logged a third, two fourths and two fifth-place finishes across its five races. Sophomore Hannah Broadland earned all-AAC first team honors, while freshman Helen Bauer made the second team.

April 30, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State rowing varsity four, which includes Helix High School graduate Deborah Worthey, has been named American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. This is the first weekly conference honor for an Aztec crew this season and just the third time an SDSU boat has been selected since the program joined the conference in 2014.

The Aztecs secured each of the available points with wins in all four events and honored their senior rowers at the race.

The Aztec varsity eight boat claimed the Cal Cup with a win in the grand final, while the varsity four ‘B’ nabbed a third-place finish, the varsity four ‘A’ and third varsity eight claimed fourth, and the second varsity eight finished sixth.
