March 9, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth with a four-run inning and never looked back, clinching the series with an 8-5 victory over Nevada Saturday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

March 8, 2019 (San Diego) - Featuring a dominating start by Justin Goossen-Brown, the San Diego State baseball team opened its three-game series against Nevada with a 3-1 win on Friday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium. SDSU evens its record at 6-6 on the young season with a 1-1 mark in Mountain West play, while Nevada, which opened its MW schedule tonight, falls to 7-5.

February 26, 2019 (San Diego) - Despite a strong outing from freshman starting pitcher Aaron Eden, the San Diego State baseball team fell victim to a four-run eighth inning in a 4-2 loss against San Diego at Tony Gwynn Stadium on Tuesday night. The Aztecs fall into 5-3, while the Toreros improve to 6-3.

February 24, 2019 (San Diego) - SDSU baseball has split both of their games in the annual Tony Gwynn Legacy--a 3-2 win Friday night against Utah and a 1-0 loss to Oklahoma yesterday.  Today, they bid the annual weekend of baseball goodbye for another year with an afternoon matinee against Kansas State.  Redshirt senior Brad Wegman started for the Aztecs against junior Will Brennan.

February 19, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team came out victorious with a 9-3 win against No. NR/25 UC Irvine on Tuesday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

Brian Leonhardt led the Aztecs with a 3-for-4 performance including four RBIs. Casey O’Sullivan (1-0) earned the win on the mound for SDSU, pitching two innings of one-hit relief with four strikeouts.

February 15, 2019 (San Diego) - Behind a combined 17 strikeouts, the San Diego State baseball team opened its 2019 season with an 8-4 win against San Francisco on Friday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

Logan Boyer set a new career-high with 10 strikeouts in five innings. Justin Goossen-Brown and Daniel Ritcheson followed Boyer in relief and maintained SDSU’s lead through the late stages, combining for four innings pitched with three hits and two runs allowed. Ritcheson struck out five of the 11 batters he faced.

January 29, 2019 (San Diego) - At today’s press conference, San Diego State men’s basketball was joined by baseball head coach Mark Martinez and junior pitcher Logan Boyer.  Aztecs baseball started practice last Friday in anticipation for their season opener on February 15.

October 4, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State baseball, winners of five of the last six Mountain West Championships, has released its 2019 schedule, it was announced Thursday morning. The Aztecs open their season on Feb. 15, 2019, with the opener of a three-game series against San Francisco. In addition to a 30-game conference schedule, notably, SDSU will host 2018 College World Series participant Texas Tech for a two-game series on March 5-6 and travel to defending national champion Oregon State on April 2-3.

August 14, 2018 (San Diego) - San DiegoSan Diego State head baseball coach Mark Martinez has signed a contract extension that will keep him on the Mesa through the 2023 season, SDSU athletics director John David Wicker announced on Tuesday. With the extension, Martinez has five years remaining on his current contract.

Freshman right-handed pitcher/infielder Casey Schmitt was named Mountain West Championships Most Valuable Player, while Dean Nevarez, Garrett Hill and Jacob Erickson were named to the All-Tournament team.

May 25, 2018 (San Diego) - After exchanging three-run third innings with the Rebels, lights-out pitching out of the Aztec bullpen and a walk-off sacrifice fly by Jordan Verdon, the San Diego State baseball solidified its place in the Mountain West Championship game tomorrow night with a 4-3 win over No. 4-seeded UNLV on Friday night at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs will go for its fifth Mountain West Championship in the last six years tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. against the winner of UNLV and San Jose State, which play tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

May 24, 2018 (San Diego) - Six players from the San Diego State baseball team earned All-Mountain West honors, the league announced Thursday afternoon. Junior right-handed pitcher Garrett Hill was named Mountain West Co-Pitcher of the Year and was joined on the first team with senior outfielder Chase Calabuig and junior infielder, Granite Hills product and El Cajon native Jordan Verdon. SDSU's three second-team selections included junior designated hitter Chad Bible, sophomore outfielder Julian Escobedo, and senior left-handed pitcher Jacob Erickson.

May 18, 2018 (Reno) - The San Diego State baseball team suffered a 13-3 defeat against Nevada on Friday night at Peccole Park. Nevada (28-22, 19-9 MW) clinched its second regular-season Mountain West Championship in the last four years with the win, while SDSU (36-18, 18-11 MW) will be the No. 2 seed in next week's Mountain West Baseball Tournament at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

May 17, 2018 (Reno) - The San Diego State baseball team overcame a pair of four-run deficits to defeat Nevada on the road Friday night 12-7. The Aztecs, now 18-10 in the Mountain West, are a half-game behind the first-place standing Wolf Pack, which fell to 18-9 in league play.

May 13, 2018 (San Diego) - Aztecs baseball picked the perfect day to have Senior Day on:  Mother’s Day and it turned out to be their last home game of the season as well.  The Aztecs looked to take the series against San Jose State with junior Tevin Cadola on the mound for the Spartans against senior Jorge Fernandez for the Aztecs.  Fun fact:  all of the Aztec baseball seniors are either criminal justice or social science majors.  No in-betweens with them, is there?

May 12, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team swept San Jose State in a Saturday doubleheader at Tony Gwynn Stadium, using a complete game by Justin Goossen-Brown in a 2-1 victory in game 1 before the bats broke things open in the nightcap in a 16-4 win.

May 11, 2018 (San Diego) - SDSU baseball has been tearing through the Mountain West and they entered tonight, their last home series of the regular season, with a strong 33-15 (15-8 MW) record.  This weekend, they faced the third place San Jose State Spartans, who sit at 21-25 (11-12 MW).  Senior Jake Swiech started on the mound for the Spartans against junior Harrison Pyatt for the Aztecs.

May 8, 2018 (San Diego) - A day after earning Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, junior first baseman Jordan Verdon was named Mountain West Player of the Week after hitting three home runs and driving in 10 runs over four games last week. Verdon joins SDSU junior designated hitter Chad Bible as the only players in the Mountain West to have won Player of the Week twice this season.

May 7, 2018 (San Diego) - Junior first baseman Jordan Verdon won his second Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week Award of the season on Monday after hitting three home runs and driving in 10 runs over four games last week. Verdon is one of nine players in the country to have won multiple National Player of the Week Awards this season.
