October 3, 2022 (San Diego) - San Diego State football head coach Brady Hoke announced Ryan Lindley, the school’s all-time passing leader, as an assistant coach on Monday. Lindley, who served as a graduate assistant coach with the Aztecs for part of the 2018 season and attended El Capitan High School, will coach the SDSU quarterbacks.

October 2, 2022 (Colorado Springs) -  San Diego State women's soccer (4-3-5, 2-1-1 MW) earned a hard fought 2-1 win over Air Force (4-5-2, 1-2-1 MW) on Sunday afternoon. Denise Castro scored a bullet header in the 65th minute to give SDSU the win.

October 2, 2022 (San Diego) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (4-5-2, 1-2-1) beat Oregon State (4-3-1, 1-1-0) 3-0 Sunday on the SDSU Sports Deck Sunday afternoon for their first Pac-12 win of the year. The Aztecs got goals from C.J. Fodrey, Blake Bowen and Iñigo Villaldea while scoring their most goals in a Pac-12 match since the 2017 season.

September 30, 2022 (Spring Valley) - ECM Sports covered Monte Vista last week, but this week, we went to their turf for the battle of Spring Valley as they hosted the Matadors of Mount Miguel.  Both teams are struggling; the Monarchs are 1-4 on the season and 0-1 in league with their loss to El Cajon Valley last week.  The Matadors are 2-4 and 0-2 in league.

September 24, 2022 (San Diego) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (3-4-2, 0-1-1) shutout UC San Diego (4-3-2) Saturday evening on the SDSU Sports Deck, earning their second straight shutout. The Aztecs outshot the Tritons 15-9 and got the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute when Iñigo Villaldea finished a beautiful assist from Donovan Roux.

September 24, 2022 (Albuquerque) - The San Diego State men’s golf team claimed the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate by eight strokes Saturday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Leading host New Mexico by five strokes heading into today’s final round, the Aztecs shot a 1-over 289 to finish at 16-under 848.

September 24, 2022 (San Diego) - The Aztec football team (2-2) defeated Toledo (2-2) 17-14 Saturday afternoon at Snapdragon Stadium. After holding a lead for the first 57 minutes, SDSU went down 14-10 late in the fourth quarter and then responded with a game-winning drive capped off with a Jordan Byrd one-yard touchdown run with 41 seconds left.
