April 2, 2021 (San Diego) - A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend San Diego State outdoor sporting events, beginning this weekend on the Aztec campus. Only fans on the respective team pass lists from the state of California will be allowed to attend as no tickets will be sold or made available to the public.

MOUNTAIN WEST POSTPONES 2020 FALL SPORTS

August 10, 2020 (San Diego) – The Mountain West conference, which houses the majority of San Diego State athletics, has announced the indefinite postponement of all scheduled fall sports contests and MW championship events in response to ongoing challenges with the effective mitigation and management of the COVID-19 virus in conjunction with athletic competition. The MW Board of Directors prioritized the physical and mental health and well-being of the Conference’s student-athletes and overall campus communities in its decision – as it has done throughout the course of the pandemic.

June 14, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State Department of Athletics announced today its 2017 class for the Aztec Hall of Fame. The group of five inductees for this year’s class include former men’s basketball head coach Steve Fisher, men’s basketball guard D.J. Gay, track and field star Whitney Ashley, and football players Craig Penrose and Whip Walton.

October 17, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State Athletics will honor the 2016 Aztec Hall of Fame class on Friday, Oct. 21, at the Payne Parma Goodall Alumni Center on the SDSU campus. The festivities will commence with a reception at noon, followed by the official induction program at 1 p.m.

August 8, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State University President Elliot Hirshman today announced that university Athletic Director Jim Sterk has resigned.  Jenny Bramer, who has been a valuable member of Aztec Athletics leadership for 13 years, will assume the role of Interim Director of Athletics.
