A DOG-GONE GOOD TIME: JACK RUSSELL DOG SHOW AT BATES NUT FARM DEC. 3-4

 November 21, 2011 (Valley Center)   The South Coast Jack Russell Terrier Club will host the 2011 Winter Sol Terrier Trial I & II 2011 at the Bates Nut Farm, Saturday and Sunday, December 3 – 4, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

 
Several events will be held throughout the weekend, including Racing, Agility, Go to Ground, Super Earth, Brush Hunt and Conformation. There will be a silent auction on Saturday and a raffle both days. Lunch will be provided by the Russell Rescue for a nominal charge.

November 21, 2011 (Ramona) –Want to feed pomegranates to a camel—or let the kids take a camel ride?  One of East County’s most unique events takes place November 26-27, when the Oasis Camel Dairy in Ramona hosts Pomegranate Days. 

Guests can also enjoy an exotic bird show performance, petting zoo, and souvenir shopping including camel milk soaps and chocolates.

SANTA’S ON HIS WAY AT BATES NUT FARM CRAFTS FAIR NOV. 25-27

 November 15, 2011 (Valley Center) --  Bates Nut Farm will host the Annual Santa’s Coming-Craft Fair over Thanksgiving weekend. The Craft Fair will be open November 25, 26 and 27; Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 80 artisans will be selling a variety of handmade crafts and fine art, just in time to start your holiday shopping.

 
Jewelry, woodworking, candles, toys, fabric arts, and more will be available through vendors. Kids can enjoy face painting, Kids’n Paint, the farm zoo and kettle corn.

November 13, 2011 (San Diego) The public is invited to a unique presentation regarding the Hubble Telescope at the Mission Trails Regional Park Theater, by amateur astronomer in residence and Trail Guide member, George Varga, and Charles Carter, a Volunteer Entertainment Coordinator. They will present "Above the Ozone", a one-hour program featuring photos from the Hubble Telescope. The presentation takes place on Saturday evening, November 19, at 7:00 p.m.

October 23, 2011 (Rolando)--The Salvation Army Kroc Center will present its annual BOO BASH on Saturday, October 29 from 3 – 6 p.m. at The Salvation Army Kroc Center Recreation Field, 6845 University Avenue (at 68th St) in San Diego.

The event is free for members with a membership card and children under 3 years old, or $2.00 per guest. Proceeds will help replenish The Kroc Center Family Services Emergency Food Pantry.

BATES NUT FARM CELEBRATES 90 YEARS OF FARMING AND FAMILY

  

 
October 14, 2011 (Valley Center) --Bates Nut Farm invites you to celebrate its 90th anniversary on October 15 and 16 from 9 am. to 5 p.m. Come out to the farm to enjoy live music featuring Calico Ridge and the Honky Tonk Kings, and enjoy great food and fresh country air. 
 
 
The Pumpkin Patch will be open, and there will be hay rides and a straw maze along with many other family friendly activities. This is a special milestone, and Bates Farm  wants to share it with you.
