The Aztecs will square off against teams across the nation to fight cancer as part of the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge.

January 25, 2017 (La Mesa) - The Helix High varsity boys soccer team is off to a decent start in conference play with only one tie.  The 6-2-4 overall Highlanders stayed at home today and faced El Capitan.  The Vaqueros are 0-1 in league play and 5-5-1 overall.

January 21, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State men’s tennis team came up short in its home opener Saturday, falling to 20th-ranked Mississippi State by a 5-2 count at Aztec Tennis Center. The Aztecs (1-2) posted a pair of victories in singles play, but it wasn’t enough against the veteran Bulldogs (1-0), who returned the bulk of their lineup after advancing to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

January 18, 2017 (San Diego) - Five San Diego State football players are scheduled to play in senior bowl games over the next two weekends. Running back Donnel Pumphrey (Las Vegas), offensive guard Nico Siragusa (Chula Vista, Calif./Mater Dei Catholic HS) and cornerback Damontae Kazee (San Bernardino, Calif.) will play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Jan. 28, while linebacker Calvin Munson (St. Charles, Mo.) - East-West Shrine Bowl - and tight end Daniel Brunskill (Valley Center, Calif.) - NFLPA Collegiate Bowl - will each play in bowls this Saturday.

January 13, 2017 (Honolulu) - The San Diego State men’s tennis opened its 2017 dual-match schedule in style Friday, posting a 5-2 triumph over Hawai’i at UH Tennis Complex. With the victory, the Aztecs (1-0) captured their seventh straight season opener and improved to 12-2 against the Rainbow Warriors (0-1) since 1989.

January 11, 2017 (San Jose) - San Diego State women’s basketball battled Mountain West foe San Jose State to the final second but ultimately fell in a heartbreaking 81-80 overtime loss to the Spartans Wednesday night. McKynzie Fort, who notched her second-career double-double, became the 21st member of the program’s 1,000-point club during the game as she matched career-highs with 29 points and 12 rebounds.
