October 25, 2016 (San Francisco) - San Diego State goalkeeper Adam Allmaras (San Diego, Calif.) was named Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this year after helping the Aztecs to a 1-0-1 record in a pair of home matches against Stanford and California, as announced Tuesday by the league office.

MUMPS REPORTED AT SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY

 

A student at San Diego State University was recently confirmed to have mumps after exposure to another student who had been ill and likely also had mumps, the County Health and Human Services Agency reported today.

The two students are housemates living off campus and were up-to-date with mumps vaccinations.  The students were not hospitalized and have recovered.

The Aztecs, who are unbeaten in six straight, return to America’s Finest City with an 8-6-3 record (6-1-3 Mountain West). The Cowgirls, meanwhile, watched their record move to 9-7-2 (5-4-1 MW).

October 20, 2016 (San Diego) - Utah State got a measure of pay back against San Diego State as it defeated the Aztecs in five sets (22-25. 25-20, 25-13, 20-25, 15-11) Thursday night at the Wayne Estes Center in Logan, Utah. The result was the reverse of the decision achieved by SDSU in late September when it downed the Aggies in five sets on Aztec Court in San Diego.

October 9, 2016 (San Diego) - Donnel Pumphrey had 198 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown, Rashaad Penny added 160 scrimmage yards and two TDs, and San Diego State beat UNLV 26-7 on Saturday night.

Pumphrey ran 31 times for 141 yards and caught seven passes for 57 yards. His 26th career 100-yard rushing game tied DonTrell Moore (New Mexico, 2002-05) for the Mountain West Conference record.

After a quiet first half, it was UCLA who struck first in the 63rd minute of the second half on a nice goal by Jose Hernandez and the Bruins took a 1-0 lead to the 90th minute to win it.
