August 3, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State track and field will have two representatives at the 16^th IAAF World Championships, with former standouts Whitney Ashley and Shanieka Thomas-Ricketts representing the United States and Jamaica, respectively. The world championships are underway August 4-13 in London.

Aztecs to play 10 home games in program’s 50th anniversary season

July 31, 2017 (San Diego) - Celebrating the program’s 50th year of competition, San Diego State men’s soccer head coach Lev Kirshner unveiled the Aztecs’ highly anticipated 2017 schedule on Monday. The challenging slate features 10 matches at SDSU Sports Deck, along with seven dates against opponents that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season.

July 26, 2017 (San Diego) - Last night was a good night, but a forgettable one as the Padres let game two against the Mets slip out of the hands on one careless play.  There were still two opportunities left to split the series, starting tonight with Steven Matz on the mound for the Mets against Jhoulys Chacin (Chacin was slated to start last night, but the rookie Kyle Lloyd took his place).

July 25, 2017 (San Diego) - What’s different about this year’s Padres is that, instead of losing without making an effort, they actually are making an effort.  They’re still losing most of their games, but the scores are a lot closer.  Last night against the Mets, the final score was 5-3.  Believe it or not, the Padres are improving.  But they still looked for a win tonight against Seth Lugo, who was on the hill for the Mets against Kyle Lloyd.

July 25, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s tennis head coach Peter Mattera revealed his team’s schedule for the 2017-18 season on Monday, which kicks off with three fall tournaments before the dual matches begin in early 2018.

July 24, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women's rowing head coach Bill Zack announced today the hiring of Dave Cormier as assistant coach. Cormier arrives on the Mesa after spending nearly two and a half years as the program director and head coach of Westford Community Rowing in Westford, Massachusetts.

July 20, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State senior running back Rashaad Penny (Norwalk, Calif.) has been named a preseason second-team All-American by Phil Steele’s 2017 College Football Preview magazine as a kick returner.
