October 19, 2018 (El Cajon) - Unbelievable that it’s late October already, but we’re already on week nine of the prep football season and ECM Friday Night Lights is at Granite Hills for what should be a high-scoring matchup between the undefeated-in-league (5-3 overall, 3-0 league) Scottie Dawgs from Helix and the undefeated-in-every-sense-of-the-word Eagles (8-0 overall, 3-0 league).  The winner of this game is crowned the Grossmont Hills Championship game winner.

Cover photo:  Helix sophomore Thomas Caneday posted nine complete innings while giving up just four hits and no runs in the shutout win for the Highlanders.

April 24, 2018 (Lakeside) - El Capitan and Helix baseball have produced some outstanding college and MLB recruits and today, we got to see both programs in action at Hostetler Field on the campus of El Capitan High.  The Vaqueros, however, have had a rocky season, going 6-11, but the positive takeaway is that they are .500 (2-2) in the Grossmont League coming into today’s game.  The Highlanders have a decent overall record (12-7), but are strangely winless in league play, going 0-2.  Sophomore Thomas Caneday got the start today for Helix against senior Blake Peyton for El Cap.

April 11, 2018 (La Mesa) - ECM Sports is bringing you both Santee schools this week, sports played by both genders and two different sports.  Since we last saw the Lady Highlanders of Helix on the lacrosse field, they’ve improved their record to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in league.  The Sultans of Santana paid them a visit tonight, bringing with them a record that leaves a lot to be desired:  2-9 overall and 1-4 in league.

March 27, 2018 (La Mesa) - Ramona readers, rejoice.  ECM Sports was finally able to cover Ramona sports for the second time ever tonight as Bulldogs girls lacrosse traveled to La Mesa to face the Highlanders of Helix.  The Bulldogs sport a decent 4-3 overall record and are 1-0 in league play. Compare that to the Highlanders, who sport a 5-1 overall (1-1 in league) record and these two are pretty evenly matched.

March 7, 2018 (La Mesa) - The Grossmont-Helix rivalry may not be as strong in lacrosse as it is in other sports, but the hate was still there as the boys from both schools took the field tonight in the first conference matchup of the season.  The Highlanders are 2-1 overall and undefeated (1-0) in league, while the Foothillers remain undefeated at 1-0 in each category coming into tonight.
