IMPOSTERS POSE AS WATER DISTRICT EMPLOYEES, BURGLARIZE HOME IN DEL CERRO

 

(San Diego) San Diego Police Department detectives are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in Del Cerro today around12:45 p.m.  A man posing as a City of San Diego Water Department employee went to the home of an elderly couple and told them he was there to check on a problem with their plumbing. He said he needed to be allowed inside to check their faucets.

 

While the man distracted the residents, a second suspect entered the home and stole cash and jewelry from the bedrooms, Lt. Andra Brown with San Diego Police reports.

February 11, 2011 (Rolando) – San Diego Police report that around 3:26 a.m., two suspects broke the front glass doors at Change U Beauty 6463 University Ave and entered, then stole numerous human hair extensions value at about $10,000 and an undisclosed amount of money.

MAN SHOT IN SPRING VALLEY BY ROBBERS

February 8, 2011 (Spring Valley) – Curtis Haynes, 45, was shot four times after refusing to give up his wallet to a pair of robbers while walking outside the San Miguel Fire Station, in 3255 Helix Street in Spring Valley. He was struck in the torso, arm and both legs during the attack, which occurred around 7:03 p.m. last night.

February 8, 2011 (La Mesa) -- La Mesa Police officers responded to a report of a robbery at Yum Yum Donuts, 7550 El Cajon Blvd., at 2:28 a.m. Two employees reported that a pair of armed male suspects stole cash, then fled on foot.

WOMAN ACCUSES SAN DIEGO POLICE OFFICER OF RAPE IN EL CAJON

February 7, 2011 (El Cajon) – El Cajon Police Department reports that late Wednesday night, February 2, they received a call from a hospital. The hospital informed police that a woman patient alleges that she was raped at an El Cajon residence by a San Diego Police officer and a woman.

El Cajon Police is investigating the case. ECM news partner 10 News cites sources who indentifed the officer as SDPD Vice Detective Arthur Perea.

February 7, 2011 (Lakeside)—An argument over alleged reckless driving with a child ended with the death of a man, 33, last night around 8 p.m.

 

According to Lt. Dennis J. Brugos with the San Diego Sheriff’s homicide detail, following a visit the man returned the child to the mother’s home in unincorporated El Cajon. The mother, 28, came outside and confronted the man, her ex-boyfriend, over his  driving.

CAR THIEF CRASHES INTO BEDROOM IN EL CAJON

 

February 6, 2011 (El Cajon) – A parolee accused of stealing a car has been arrested after crashing the vehicle into the bedroom of a home at 627 Verdin Street in El Cajon shortly before dawn this morning. Thankfully the home's occupants were spared a rude awakening, since no one was sleeping in the bedroom that was struck.

21 ARRESTED IN EAST COUNTY CURFEW SWEEPS

 

February 5, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – San Diego Sheriff’s deputies conducted a curfew sweep last night, arresting 21 people during the four-hour operation that included Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Casa de Oro, Rancho San Diego, and unincorporated portions of La Mesa. Those arrested included 17 juveniles on curfew violations as well as three adults on drug possession and one adult male on an outstanding felony warrant.

SON PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO MURDER OF FATHER,,77, IN LAKESIDE

February 5, 2011 (Lakeside) – Robert Goodwin, 77, died of multiple blunt force injuries on January 29th and his death has been determined to be a homicide by the San Diego Medical Examiner. His son, Charles Goodwin, 28, pled not guilty to a murder charge and is being held on $2.5 million bail.

Cross-dressing suspect accused of robbing banks in El Cajon and San Diego

 

February 4, 2011 (San Diego) -- San Diego Police Department Robbery Unit detectives, in cooperation with investigators from the El Cajon Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations, have arrested Robert Dion Tyndall II for a series of bank robberies that began last summer in El Cajon.

“BOMB HOUSE” INVESTIGATION COSTS OVER HALF MILLION DOLLARS

 

 

February 3, 2011 (Escondido) – San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore has released departmental expenses associated with the investigation of the “bomb house” at 1954 Via Scott in Escondido. Expenses for the investigation, which culminated in burning down the home filled with the largest stash of home-made explosives ever found on U.S. soil, cost taxpayers $541,242.

CARJACKING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN LA MESA

 

February 2, 2011 (La Mesa) -- Around 9:28 this morning, a man flagged down a La Mesa Police Officer in the 7500 block of El Cajon Boulevard to report a carjacking. Officers immediately searched the area and found Lachapelle Chenda, 30, of San Diego, in the back lot of an apartment complex in 4800 block of Parks Avenue.

February 2, 2011 (San Diego) – San Diego Police report that a man, 20, was punched and stabbed in the hand after refusing to hand over his wallet and cell phone to two robbers. The victim was walking on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of El Cajon Blvd.  in the Talmadge neighborhood when the altercation occurred around 10:15 last night.

VALLEY CENTER MAN INJURED IN BURGLARY; 2 ASSAILANTS ARRESTED

 

February 1, 2011 (Valley Center) – Cameron Manning, 19, has been hospitalized with head trauma, a skull fracture and broken bones after he was attacked by two burglary suspects. According to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, shortly after midnight on January 28, Manning entered his residence at 24586 Lake Wohlford in Valley Center. There he was beaten in the head with a hammer, kicked, and left bound and injured on the floor.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN SANTEE AFTER STRUGGLE; ACCUSED OF THEFTS AND HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENTS

February 1, 2011 (Santee) – A hit-and-run accident in Lakeside under investigation by the California Highway Patrol led to discovery that the same vehicle had committed a hit and run in Santee yesterday, according to Sgt. Scott Hill at the Santee Sheriff substation. “The subject was seen leaving that vehicle and going into a house. There was a theft of items in a vehicle and that suspect vehicle was tied to that also,” he said.

MOTHER ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF DAUGHTER, 9

January 31, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) -- San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives have arrested Crystal Cardenas for the murder of her daughter, Elizabeth Holloway, 9. The mother was arrested at 10:25 a.m. today while walking in the 1600 block of Canyon Road in Spring Valley.

 

On January 17 at 10:22 p.m., officers and paramedics were dispatched to the family’s home at 328 Milbrae Street in the Mountain View community when the child went into medical distress. She was taken to a trauma center, and her autopsy revealed she died from blunt force trauma.

January 31, 2011 (San Diego) – Sheriff Bill Gore held a press conference today to remind San Diegans not to drink and drive on Super Bowl weekend, or anytime. He was joined at the conference by Erin Limonchi of La Mesa, whose mother, Pamela Marabeas, was killed September 30, 2009 when a drunk driver smashed into her mother’s SUV in Santee. Limonchi has donated the crumpled vehicle for use in free “Start Smart” classes to provide teens a graphic reminder of the deadly consequences of drinking and driving.

January 30, 2011 (Lakeside) – Last night, a 28-year-old man reported that his 77-year-old father was deceased at their residence. Paramedics pronounced the elderly man dead at the scene, 12645 Laurel Street, Apt. 1, in Lakeside. “The condition of the body was such that paramedics expressed their concerns to deputies,” said Lt. Dennis J. Brugos with the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail.

OFFICERS JUSITIFED IN SHOOTING EAST COUNTY MAN WHO THREW CHEF'S KNIFE AT POLICE, DISTRICT ATTORNEY FINDS

January 28, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis has concluded that the non-fatal shooting of Huong Quy Luu on July 25th was justified. San Diego Police Officers Blake Williams and Christopher Blakely “fired in self-defense as well as in defense of one another,” a letter issued by Dumanis on January 24 states.

 

The officers had responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a violent man breaking out windows in the 6900 block of Jamacha Road.

January 28, 2011 (Rancho Bernardo) – The FBI and San Diego Police seek the public’s help to identify a bank robber who robbed the Navy Federal Credit Union at 17030 Bernardo Center Drive around 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25th. The man, who is around 50 years old, and wore a green baseball cap demanded money from a teller and fled with the cash in an older model motorhome.

WOMAN INJURED DURING PURSE SNATCHING AT GROSSMONT CENTER

 

January 27, 2011 (La Mesa) – A woman walking to her car in the Wal-Mart parking lot at Grossmont Center had her purse stolen last night around 6:30 p.m.The victim was approached from behind by the suspect, who grabbed the purse by the strap and attempted to flee. The victim tried unsuccessfully to hold onto her puse, twisting her lower back during the struggle.

BANK ROBBERY IN LA MESA

 

January 27, 2011 (La Mesa)- On Tuesday, January 25 at 9:37 a.m., a lone suspect robbed the Pacific West Bank at 7966 La Mesa Boulevard. He handed a teller a demand note and fled on foot with the cash. No weapon was displayed and no one was harmed. Police called in the ASTREA helicopter to assist, but were unable to locate the suspect, who was last seen near La Mesa Blvd. and Guava Avenue.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ELDER ABUSE OF PEARL HARBOR SURVIVOR IN EL CAJON

 

January 26, 2011 (El Cajon) – San Diego Sheriff’s deputies discovered a 93-year-old Pearl Harbor survivor living in “filth and squalor” in the 2000 block of Euclid Avenue in an unincorporated area of El Cajon. When deputies arrived yesterday, the veteran was holding a photograph of the ship on which he had served, the U.S.S. Vestal AR-4, which had been anchored next to the U.S.S. Arizona during the World War II attack.

 

Detectives arrested a live-in paid caretaker, Milagros Angeles, 62, for elder abuse.

BORDER PATROL AGENT’S FUGITIVE FATHER ARRESTED

 

January 24, 2011 (San Diego)--The FBI reports that Marcos Gerardo Manzano Sr. was taken into custody on Sunday, January 23, after he self-surrendered to agents assigned to the Border Corruption Task Force (BCTF) in the vicinity of the Chula Vista Border Patrol Station in San Ysidro.

 

According to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District, of California, U.S Border Patrol Agent Marcos Gerardo Manzano Jr. and his father, Marcos Gerardo Manzano Sr., are charged with violations of federal immigration laws.. Manzano Jr. is accused of harboring an illegal immigrant in a false room and making a false statement.

SPRING VALLEY MAN ARRESTED FOR FIRING GUN IN HOME

 

January 23, 2011 (Spring Valley) – A Spring Valley man has been arrested for shooting a handgun inside his home at 1815 Sweetwater Road, #12, in Spring Valley. John Graham, 70, was reportedly intoxicated and despondent when he fired off the gun following an argument with his wife, who fled the residence. Deputies surrounded the home and made numerous calls into the residence via phone and loud speakers, but initially received no response.

LA MESA MAN WANTED FOR CHILD MOLESTATION

 

January 22, 2011 (La Mesa)--The La Mesa Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to help locate and apprehend Jeffrey John McPherson, 41, who is wanted for several counts of child molestation  after meeting the victim on MySpace.com.

 

On June 24, 2010, McPherson was arrested by the LMPD for molesting a 16-year-old boy over a 9-month period. He failed to make a court appearance while out on bail. On December 3, a felony arrest warrant was issued. McPherson’s current whereabouts are unknown.  He is white, 6’0”, 185 lbs, with brown hair, blue eyes, and multiple tattoos covering both arms.
