August 10, 2015 (Spring Valley) – A man accused of stealing a gun from a sporting goods store and then carjacking a woman’s car outside the Albertson’s on Campo Road in Spring Valley Sunday evening is now under arrest.

August 7, 2015 (Lemon Grove)—Sheriff’s Deputies responded at 8 p.m. last night to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon at 3554 West Street in Lemon Grove.

August 4, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) - The 4^th District Court of Appeal  ruled in late July that Proposition 47’s sentencing reclassification provisions apply equally to children and adults. San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis had argued that juveniles are not eligible to have their past offenses reduced to misdemeanors, even though adults convicted of the same felonies may petition for such relief.

July 31, 2015 (Lakeside) –According to law enforcement, James DiMaggio kidnapped Lakeside teen Hannah Anderson after first  torturing and murdering her mother and brother, then setting fire to his home in Boulevard with their bodies inside.  The crimes triggered a multi-state manhunt that ended when FBI agents killed DiMaggio in the Idaho wilderness where he had taken Anderson, after he fired a shot first. 

But now DiMaggio’s sister, Lora DiMaggio Robinson, has filed a claim with the FBI and also plans to file a lawsuit in Idaho federal court next week, 10 News reports. She seeks over $20 million damages from the FBI for what she claims was a wrongful death, plus personal injury and property damage.

Her lawyer, C. Keith Greer, told NBC 7 TV that "Robinson knows that her brother was a very kind man, certainly not one to shoot at an FBI agent.”

July 30, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) -- Join the San Diego County Sheriff's Department for free Night Out Against Crime events on Tuesday, August 4.  Sheriff's Stations and Substations all over the county will be hosting block parties to take a stand against crime, including numerous locations in East County.

July 28, 2015 (Lakeside) – The County’s Hazardous Materials team has condemned a  residence at 9120 Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside , declaring it uninhabitable due to chemicals from illegal drugs found during a law enforcement raid.

July 26, 2015 (Spring Valley ) – Shortly after midnight Saturday morning, July 25^th, Sheriff’s deputies from the Rancho San Diego station responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment at 1034 Leland Street.  Deputies found a 55-year-old man inside who had suffered a gunshot wound to his legs.

July 14, 2015 (El Cajon)--A man who was wanted on 17 counts of child molestation since 1996 was arrested at his home in El Cajon last Friday, July 10.

July 10, 2015 (Poway) –CAL FIRE announces the arrest of Benjamin Cohen, 44 from Poway. He is suspected of intentionally starting 11 fires in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

July 9, 2015 (La Mesa) – A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with assault involving great bodily injury for a beating that occurred at the La Mesa Trolley Station on La Mesa Boulevard on June 13^th at 8 p.m.

July 7, 2015 (Pine Valley) -- U.S. Border Patrol agents at a checkpoint on I-8 near Pine Valley found three undocumented Mexican immigrants in a vehicle trunk and arrested three American citizens on Monday.

Youth from the Juvenile Ranch Facility will be moved to the Camp Barrett facility by early August.
