May 4, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State men’s golf team will venture to the Pacific Northwest for the 2017 Washington Regional May 15-17 as announced Thursday by the NCAA selection committee. The 37th-ranked Aztecs earned a No. 7 seed for their school-record 19th consecutive regional appearance and 22nd overall since the regional format was launched in 1989.

May 2, 2017 (Los Angeles) - San Diego State scored three runs in the top of the ninth with a pair of home runs as it defeated UCLA 8-6 Tuesday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles. The rally brought the Aztecs back from the brink as they had trailed since the fourth inning.

May 2, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State second varsity eight earned the American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week honor, the conference office announced Tuesday. This is the first weekly award for the 2V8 and just the second conference honor for the SDSU rowing team. The second eight had a stellar weekend in Gold River, Calif., where it won its two races at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Lake Natoma.

May 1, 2017 (El Cajon) - On May Day, Granite Hills and Grossmont girls lacrosse faced off on the final game of both teams’ seasons.  The Eagles entered tonight with an impressive season, going 10-4 overall and 5-2 in league.  The Foothillers could stand to do a little better; they were 5-10 overall and 3-4 in league play entering tonight.

April 30, 2017 (Logan, Utah) - Shelby Thompson (Benicia, Calif.) and Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) each hit grand slams to lead the San Diego State softball team to a 15-5, five-inning victory over Mountain West-leading Utah State in the series finale Sunday in Logan, Utah. The Aztecs improved to 26-17 overall and 10-8 in MW play, while the Aggies dropped to 32-12 and 14-6.

April 29, 2017 (San Francisco) - Remember those Bad Luck Brian memes from 2007?  That was pretty much the Padres’ night last night; they stayed in the game, but a late home run gave the Giants the lead.  However, the Padres’ perseverance gave everyone some hope coming into tonight.  Jhoulys Chacin started on the mound for the Padres against Matt Cain, who’s been pitching surprisingly well.

April 29, 2017 (Logan, Utah) - The San Diego State softball team was swept in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Utah State. The Aztecs (25-17, 9-8 MW) opened with a 4-2 loss to the Aggies (32-11, 14-5 MW) before falling by a 4-1 score on a walk-off three-run home run in the nightcap.

April 29, 2017 (Philadelphia) - San Diego State had three players selected in the 2017 NFL Draft, which wrapped up Saturday in Philadelphia. Nico Siragusa and Donnel Pumphrey were each picked in the fourth round, while Damontae Kazee was selected early in the fifth round.
