May 25, 2017 (Alberquerque) - In a contest played with a consistent 27 mph wind blowing out to right field, San Diego State was able to generate more offense than Fresno State as it defeated the Bulldogs 18-10 in Thursday’s opening game of the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.

May 25, 2017 (San Diego) - It didn’t look like the Padres were going to pull it off last night, but they did, evening the series with the Mets at one game apiece.  Hopefully they were riding that momentum tonight in the rubber game.  Number 10 Padres prospect Dinelson Lamet, just recently called up from El Paso, started for the Padres against Jacob deGrom for the Mets.

May 23, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State had 13 football players selected to the Athlon Sports preseason all-Mountain West team, the magazine recently announced. The back-to-back Mountain West champion Aztecs had a league-high 14 selections overall with senior Rashaad Penny (Norwalk, Calif.) named to the first team as a running back and a kick returner.

The six selections easily broke the Aztecs’ previous best of four (2013 and 2015) as only six teams in the country had more players on their all-region team than SDSU this year.

May 16, 2017 (Sammamish, Wash.) - The San Diego State men’s golf team saw its 2016-17 campaign come to a disappointing conclusion Wednesday with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Washington Regional at Aldarra Golf Club. The Aztecs fired a combined 14-over-par 298 during the final round to complete the tournament with a 54-hole total of 30-over 882 on the par-71, 6,885-yard course layout.
