April 27, 2017 (Spring Valley) - Mount Miguel softball is a little worse for wear; they’re 5-7 overall and 1-3 in league play so far heading into today’s game against El Capitan.  The Vaqueros are a different story; they sport a decent 12-10 overall record, but are undefeated in league play with a 4-0 record coming into today.  Sophomore Nya Maga started on the hill for the Matadors against junior Elena Laddon for the Vaqueros.

April 27, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women's golfer Fernanda Escauriza (Asunción, Paraguay) was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year as the league announced its postseason awards on Thursday. In addition, Escauriza garnered second-team all-MW accolades, joining first-team selections Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) and Georgia Lacey (Del Mar, Calif.) to give the Aztecs three all-conference honorees in the same season for the fifth time in head coach Leslie Spalding’s six-year tenure.

April 27, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women's golf team received word of its postseason destination on Thursday when the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee announced the Aztecs will compete in the NCAA Lubbock Regional, May 8-10, in Lubbock, Texas. SDSU garnered the No. 8 seed for its seventh regional berth in the last eight years and 14th overall since the regional format was introduced in 1993.

April 26, 2017 (San Diego) - UC Riverside scored five runs over the middle two innings to break a 2-2 deadlock as it went on to defeat San Diego State, 7-4, Tuesday evening at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The win provided a measure of revenge for the Highlanders, who had suffered a 10-1 setback at the hands of the Aztecs a week ago in Riverside.

April 25, 2017 (La Mesa) - Santana High School baseball paid a visit to Helix to take on the Highlanders.  It promised to be a fun matchup, with the Scottie dogs sporting an incredible 13-7 overall record (3-1 in league) coming into today.  The Sultans were even more impressive, coming into the contest undefeated in league play (4-0) and 14-6 overall.  Junior Keaton Chase took the mound for the Highlanders against senior Tristan Salinas for the Sultans.
