April 9, 2017 (Reno, Nev.) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team traveled to Reno, Nev., this weekend for its first road conference match against the University of Nevada, but could not get past the Wolf Pack and ultimately fell 5-2 at the McArthur Tennis Center. Today’s loss puts the Aztecs at 0-2 in conference play and marks the team’s sixth straight loss.

April 8, 2017 (San Diego) - Facing the nation’s top scoring defense and fifth-ranked scoring offense, San Diego State remained within striking distance of No. 9/10 USC for over 40 minutes on Saturday, before ultimately dropping a 15-3 decision in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest at Aztec Lacrosse Field.

April 8, 2017 (San Diego) - Dillan Shrum’s home run in the top of the 11th inning ended a 1-1 stalemate and propelled Nevada to a 3-1 victory over San Diego State Saturday afternoon at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The two-run homer to right field was the first of the season for the freshman first baseman, who was responsible for driving in all three of the Wolf Pack’s runs on the day.

April 8, 2017 (Tempe, Ariz.) - The San Diego State women’s golf team moved up one spot into 10th place on Saturday after shooting a 4-over-par 292 during the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational at Karsten Golf Course. With their total, the Aztecs find themselves nine shots out of the top five with a 54-hole score of 14-over 590 heading into Sunday’s final round on the par-72, 6,337-yard layout.

April 8, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State used a four-run fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and went on to defeat Nevada, 6-3, Friday evening at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The win, coupled with New Mexico’s loss at San Jose State earlier in the day, moved the Aztecs to within one game of the league-leading Lobos in the conference standings.

April 7, 2017 (San Diego) - T-No. 14 San Diego State was outstanding on defense, received a career effort from goalkeeper Kate McDonnell and saw Caroline Israels score the game-winner in an 8-7 victory over ninth-ranked Pacific on Friday afternoon at Aztec Aquaplex. The win moved SDSU to 14-12 overall and 5-0 in the Golden Coast Conference, while UOP fell to 14-8 and 3-1 in league action.

April 5, 2017 (San Diego) -  Former San Diego State football center Arthur Flores (Denver) has been named to the 2017 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced today. To be eligible for the award, the athlete must own at least a 3.2 undergraduate GPA, complete his final year of eligibility in 2016 and be a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2016 campaign.

April 4, 2017 (Spring Valley) - Monte Vista varsity baseball began conference play today after starting the season with a decent 7-4 record.  Their first opponent?  The West Hills Wolf Pack, who haven’t fared as well, but who stood at an average 4-6 coming into today. April 3, 2017 (Fresno) - Playing its first road game in over a month, the San Diego State lacrosse team traveled to the Central Valley on Monday, but came up on the short end of 17-12 score to Fresno State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game. With the setback, the Aztecs slip to 8-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play, while the Bulldogs raise their record to an identical 8-4 mark overall and 1-3 in the MPSF.

April 3, 2017 (Los Angeles) - Ah, Opening Day.  Probably the best time of the year besides Christmas.  The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the field is green and another Padres season is upon us.  And since the Pads failed so miserably at home on Opening Day against the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw last year, the MLB decided to see how they do on an Opening Day away from home against the Dodgers.  Jhoulys Chacin got the Opening Day nod for San Diego against Kershaw. Brown’s two-out hit got an assist from the sun, as the Spartan center fielder was unable to track what appeared to be a routine fly ball.
