November 7, 2016 (San Diego) -- The pop rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar will be presented at San Diego State University’s Don Powell Theater on December 1-4.  Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday plus a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

November 6, 2016 (Colorado Springs) - San Diego State has clinched the West Division crown of the Mountain West for the second straight year and a spot in the 2016 Mountain West Football Championship game, the league announced Sunday. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 and will kick off at either 4:30 p.m. PT, 4:45 p.m. PT or 5 p.m. PT on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.

November 5, 2016 (Fresno) - In a match in which three of the four sets were decided by two points, San Diego State came up on the short end of a 3-1 decision as it fell at Fresno State Saturday afternoon at the Bulldogs’ Save Mart Arena. FSU prevailed by sets scores of 23-25, 28-26, 25-20, 29-27.

November 5, 2016 (Corvallis, Ore.) - San Diego State concluded it stay in Oregon with a 109-89 dual meet victory over Oregon State today at the Beavers’ Osborn Aquatic Center. Saturday’s meet was an abbreviated program that consisted of nine individual events along with a pair of relays (no diving). With the victory, the Aztecs improved to 6-0 on the season.

November 4, 2016 (Corvallis, Ore.) - San Diego State swimmers won 10 of 12 individual races as they defeated Oregon State, 139-113, Friday afternoon at OSU’s Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis, Ore. The win was the fifth straight for the Aztecs, who improved to 5-0 on this season.

November 3, 2016 (Corvallis, Ore.) - After a furious rally late in the second half, the No. 21/15 San Diego State men’s soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat in overtime Thursday at the hands of host Oregon State in a Pac-12 match at Lorenz Field. With the loss, the Aztecs slip to 8-4-4 overall and 3-3-2 in conference play, while the Beavers move to 6-7-2 on the season and 2-4-2 in the Pac-12.

The Aztecs, who dominated in every facet of the game except the one column that counts, fell to 8-7-3 overall and 6-2-3 in the Mountain West. The Lobos, meanwhile, finished their season at 9-7-3 (5-5-1 MW).

October 25, 2016 (San Diego) - John David Wicker has been named San Diego State University's new Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The announcement was made today by SDSU President Elliot Hirshman.

MUMPS REPORTED AT SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY

 

A student at San Diego State University was recently confirmed to have mumps after exposure to another student who had been ill and likely also had mumps, the County Health and Human Services Agency reported today.

The two students are housemates living off campus and were up-to-date with mumps vaccinations.  The students were not hospitalized and have recovered.
