San Diego Supervisors are considering joining the Trump administration’s lawsuit against California’s sanctuary state law, or Senate Bill 54, which protects certain undocumented immigrations by setting limits on cooperation between local law enforcement departments and federal immigration authorities.

San Diego Supervisors are expected to discuss the matter on April 17^th in a closed-door meeting with County Counsel.  But while Supervisor Jacob agues that the Trump administration's push to force local law enforcement officers to stringently enforce federal immigration mandates would increase public safety, Sheriff Bill Gore suggests it would have the opposite effect, making communities less safe by making immigrants afraid to report crimes.

April 5, 2018 (Lakeside) — This morning, deputies from the Lakeside Sheriff’s substation and Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail executed a search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation at 11715 Morena Avenue in Lakeside.  They found a butane honey oil lab used to make concentrated cannabis products, as well as five guns, suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash.

April 4, 2018 (Austin, Texas) - Warm up your basketball bracket skills because the San Diego Kings basketball team are going to the American Basketball Association’s ABA Elite 8 tournament in Austin, Texas this week. Specifically, their bracket play begins with a game against the DMV Warriors this Thursday, April 5, at 3:00 p.m. PST. April 3, 2018 (Lake Elsinore) - San Diego State starting pitcher Harrison Pyatt took a no-hitter bid into the eighth inning before surrendering his first and only hit of the game in SDSU baseball's  5-1 victory over Long Beach State at Lake Elsinore Diamond on Tuesday night. SDSU earns its 20th win of the season and improves to 20-9 overall, while LBSU drops to 11-18 on the season.

April 2, 2018 (El Cajon) – A 16-year-old football player from Granite Hills High School was struck by a vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries tonight.

According to Lieutenant Steve Kirk with the El Cajon Police Department, after a preliminary investigation and interviewing witnesses, “It appears the pedestrian was with three other male juveniles running south across East Washington outside of a controlled intersection” when the teen was struck by a white 2016 Toyota Rav4 traveling eastbound.

April 2, 2018 (San Diego) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Ysidro port of entry thwarted two alleged narcotic smuggling attempts after discovering one teen carrying packages of fentanyl strapped to his body and a young woman concealing fentanyl and cocaine in her vehicle.
