September 26, 2016 (Colorado Springs, Colo.) - San Diego State redshirt freshman goalkeeper Gabby English has been named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. The Winter Park, Florida native helped the Aztecs post two shutouts to vault them into first place in the league standings.

September 25, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State defeated Colorado College, 1-0, on a sun-splashed Sunday afternoon at SDSU Sports Deck. With their second straight win, the Aztecs improved to 4-5 on the season and 2-0 in Mountain West action. The Tigers, meanwhile, fell to 5-5 and 1-1 in conference.

September 18, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State closed its non-conference schedule on Sunday night with a 1-0 loss to No. 24/23 Texas Tech at SDSU Sports Deck. The difference maker was an own goal, which snapped the Aztecs’ two-game winning streak and dropped them to 2-5. The Red Raiders, meanwhile, improved to 7-1-2.

September 16, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State scored two goals in a matter of four minutes to help defeat Weber State, 3-0, Thursday night at SDSU Sports Deck. With the Aztecs’ second consecutive victory, they improve to 2-4 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 2-3-1.

September 11, 2016 (Ithaca, N.Y.) - San Diego State picked up its first win of the season on a Victoria Barba penalty kick as the Aztecs defeated Cornell on the road, 1-0. The Aztecs move to 1-4 on the year, while the Big Red fall to 2-3.

August 12, 2016 (San Francisco) - San Diego State took the pitch for the first time in 2016 and fell at San Francisco, 2-0, in the Aztecs’ lone exhibition before its season opener. The teams played three 30-minute periods and one 15-minute overtime session before calling it a night.

The Aztecs’ 18-game schedule features eight home games, including the season opener vs. UCLA, and does not include the return of the Mountain West Championship to SDSU Sports Deck in early November.
