May 24, 2022 (San Diego) -- The real Founders of American society were not the 55 rich white male interlopers who staged a coup d’etat in 1787-9 … and whose misogynist progeny have always wanted to ban abortion.

Our true original founders were the Indigenous matriarchs who ran most of America for thousands of years before the first whites set foot here.

For tens of centuries they controlled their pregnancies by herbal means. The idea that any government (tribal or otherwise) could rule a woman’s uterus would evoke disbelief and contempt from men and women alike.

May 23, 2022 (El Cajon) –The Spinners, one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history, take stage in a live concert May 28 at 8 p.m. at Sycuan’s Live and Up Close Theatre. May 23, 2022 (Warner Springs) -- The County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health and Quality (DEHQ) has issued a Boil Water Order for Warner Unified School District water system at 30951 Highway 79, Warner Springs. Only the main campus is impacted by the boil water order, not the resource center and ball fields located across the highway from the campus.  The water system serves a daily population of 150 people, consisting of students and staff of Warner Unified School District (kindergarten through 12^th grade).

May 22, 2022 (Tempe) - The San Diego State softball team saw its season come to end at the NCAA Tempe Regional final with an 8-4 loss at No. 8/5 Arizona State Sunday afternoon at Farrington Stadium. The Mountain West champion Aztecs finished 39-16 (.709), the second-best record in program history.

May 22, 2022 (Washington D.C.) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a voluntary recall of numerous Jif peanut butter products by J.M. Smucker due to a multi-state outbreak of salmonella senftenberginfections linked to the popular peanut butter brand. The products were distributed nationally and sold through major retailers and other outlets nationwide.

May 20, 2022 (El Cajon) – Chase Folkes, 55, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his mother, 88-year-old Carolyn Jean Folkes. 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from a man requesting help at a home in the 1200 block of Corto Lane in unincorporated El Cajon at 1:30 a.m. on May 19.  They found Carolyn Folkes dead in the home with trauma to her upper body.

May 18, 2022 (Spring Valley) – Two people have been arrested for the murder of Ronald Ray McKinney, 59. His body was found by hikers on January 23 off the roadway in the 3500 block of Millar Ranch Road in Spring Valley.

May 16. 2022 (Campo) – A U.S. Border Patrol agent died Friday, May 13 of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash near Campo. The agent, a 40-year-old man assigned to the El Cajon station in the San Diego sector, was the sole occupant of the USBP vehicle.

May 16, 2022 (Lemon Grove) -- May is National Foster Care Month.  The People's Association of Justice Advocates (PAJ) and the Three Kings Barbershop in Lemon Grove are teaming up to provide haircuts free of charge to current and former foster youths up to age 21 during the month of May. Each haircut will save young people between $30-45.

May 13, 2022 (El Cajon) – A sting operation found 24 retailers in El Cajon sold tobacco to minors without asking for ID, in violation of the city’s Tobacco Retail License Inspection Program. That’s 23% of all outlets inspected.
