July 6, 2012 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Police today announced the arrest of Darron Willams, 19, a transient accused of hurling a bottle bomb at a trolley station in La Mesa on July 3 shortly before 8 p.m. The device, a 16-ounce plastic bottle filled with magnesium and water, exploded at the Spring Street Trolley Station at 4250 Spring Street.

July 6, 2012 (El Cajon) -- Cuyamaca College cross-country coach Tim Seaman, a two-time Olympian race walker, will be traveling to the Games in London, but this time it will be as a coach instead of as a competitor.
Athletes competing in the men’s 20,000-meter race walk at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Oregon last week included, from left, Tyler Sorensen; Cuyamaca College graduate Nick Christie; Cuyamaca College cross country coach Tim Seaman, and the winner of the 12-man race and the lone qualifier for the London Games, Trevor Barron. Seaman, who has competed twice in the Olympics, is the coach for these three young athletes.

The bill, which seeks to remove “bureaucratic obstacles” to energy production on tribal lands, would also severely impede residents, environmentalists or even neighboring tribes who file lawsuits to stop tribal energy projects.

July 5, 2012 (El Cajon) --A single family home at 796 Ballantyne Rd was damaged overnight by a fire. According to Battalion Chief Kelly Sisson from Heartland Fire, two adults and two dogs were removed from the scene, since they could not stay there overnight.

July 5, 2012 (Ramona) – San Diego Sheriff’s Child Abuse unit, Homicide Detail and Crime Lab are investigating the serious injury of a 7-month-old child.
Ramona deputies received a call at 11:27 a.m. yesterday to assist fire department paramedics in 2600 block of Southern Oak Road.The child, injured inside the home, was transported via air ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital but is not expected to survive, said Lt. Larry Nesbit with the Sheriff's Homicide Detail.
