August 25, 2017 (Miami) - The Padres leave St. Louis on a high after winning the series against the Cardinals last night 4-3.  And what better place to party than in Miami?  But the Padres didn’t have time to party, though; they had a game against the Marlins tonight.  Travis Wood started against Adam Conley for the Marlins.

August 23, 2017 (St. Louis) - The Padres absolutely beat down the Cardinals last night.  Yangervis Solarte went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a two-run blast that sealed the 12-4 win.  They looked to replicate that tonight with Jhoulys Chacin on the mound against Luke Weaver for the Redbirds.

July 27, 2017 (San Diego) - The Padres were what they needed to be last night, getting the win against the Mets with good offense and even better defense.  Now it was time for the series finale tonight.  Twenty-three-year-old rookie Chris Flexen started on the mound for the Mets against Luis Perdomo.

July 26, 2017 (San Diego) - Last night was a good night, but a forgettable one as the Padres let game two against the Mets slip out of the hands on one careless play.  There were still two opportunities left to split the series, starting tonight with Steven Matz on the mound for the Mets against Jhoulys Chacin (Chacin was slated to start last night, but the rookie Kyle Lloyd took his place).

July 25, 2017 (San Diego) - What’s different about this year’s Padres is that, instead of losing without making an effort, they actually are making an effort.  They’re still losing most of their games, but the scores are a lot closer.  Last night against the Mets, the final score was 5-3.  Believe it or not, the Padres are improving.  But they still looked for a win tonight against Seth Lugo, who was on the hill for the Mets against Kyle Lloyd.
