July 25, 2020 (San Diego) - In the first game of the shortened season due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Padres defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-2 in an empty Petco Park.

Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred has announced that the MLB will officially begin a 60-day season, starting around July 24, according to ESPN.

September 3, 2019 (Phoenix) - Last month of torture ahead as the Padres traveled to Phoenix to face the Diamondbacks.  They've already lost game one, but would try again tonight with Ronald Bolanos on the mound against Merrill Kelly for the Dbacks.

August 17, 2019 (Philadelphia) - After losing game one last night to the Phillies of all teams, the Padres tried again today with Dinelson Lamet on the mound against Zach Eflin for the Phillies.

August 2, 2019 (Los Angeles) - After losing badly in game one last night, the Padres tried again against the Dodgers tonight in game two with Eric Lauer on the mound against Dustin May for the Dodgers, making his first major league start.

July 14, 2019 (San Diego) - The Padres started off the second half of the season in usual Padres fashion:  by losing the first two games of their returning series. Mike Soroka started today’s game three finale for the Braves against Cal Quantrill.

July 7, 2019 (Los Angeles) - The Padres have had a string of terrible games, including getting swept by the Giants badly.  They’re back in LA now and have won their last two games against the Dodgers and would try to take the series today with Joey Lucchesi on the mound against Ross Stripling.

June 22, 2019 (Pittsburgh) - The Padres left San Diego for Pittsburgh yesterday, losing 2-1 to the Pirates.  Chris Paddack started today’s game two against Chris Archer for Pittsburgh.

After a slight pitchers’ duel, Manny Machado launched a solo homer in the fourth to left field to give the Padres a 1-0 lead after four.

June 18, 2019 (San Diego) - Back home and back in fourth place, the Padres are back to NL Central opponents, taking on the Brewers.  They won 2-0 last night--their fourth shutout of the season--and called up prospect Logan Allen to start game two tonight against Milwaukee’s Brandon Woodruff.

June 5, 2019 (Secaucus, N.J.) - The Padres took seven consecutive pitchers yesterday on day two.  One East County kid was drafted. May 26, 2019 (San Diego) -The Padres have rocked the Blue Jays this weekend, including a 19-4 win yesterday to put them solely in second place.  Today, they went for a sweep with Robbie Erlin on the mound against Marcus Stroman for the Jays.
