September 17, 2022 (Riverside) - The San Diego State cross country team finished 14th out of 31 teams on Saturday morning at the UC Riverside Invitational held on the campus of UC Riverside. Jessica Kain paced the Aztecs as she finished 17th overall out of a field of 265 runners.

September 16, 2022 (Phoenix) - The Padres gave absolutely no effort yesterday in their loss to Arizona.  They tried again tonight with Blake Snell on the mound against Madison Bumgarner for the Dbacks.

San Diego State women's soccer fell on Thursday night to No. 1 UCLA 2-0, at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. The Bruins scored in the 41st minute and in the 53rd minute in the win.

Early in the match, UCLA (7-0-0) and San Diego State (2-2-4) felt each other out, with neither team able to find the back of the net. Both Denise Castro and Emma Gaines-Ramos had shots in the first half. Gaines-Ramos tested the keeper from distance in the 19th minute, but her shot was saved by the UCLA keeper. The Bruins did not trouble Alexa Madueno in goal until later in the half when she made two stops in the 25th and 26th minutes to keep the game level. However, it was late in the first half when UCLA grabbed the opening goal in the 41st minute. Sunshine Fontes found Ellie Wallburch who found her way in on goal and shot a left-footed shot into the top left corner of the goal to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

September 15, 2022 (Berkeley) -The Aztec men’s soccer team (2-4-1, 0-1-0) fell at California (2-1-3, 1-0-0) 2-0 in their Pac-12 opener Thursday evening.

SDSU attempted 17 corners, the most under Head Coach Ryan Hopkins (3^rd season), but were outshot 11-9 and managed just two shots on goal.

September 14, 2022 (Seattle) - Last night, the Padres got an easy 2-0 win with strong pitching by Yu Darvish.  Today they went for the sweep with Mike Clevinger on the mound against Luis Castillo for Seattle.

September 11, 2022 (San Diego) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (2-3-1) upset No. 6 Denver 2-1 behind two header goals from Elias Katsaros on the SDSU Sports Deck Sunday evening. This was the second result against a top 10 team this week, after playing No. 7 Creighton to a 2-2 draw on the road Monday.

September 11, 2022 (Scottsdale) - The San Diego State men’s golf team finished in eighth place at the competitive Maui Jim Intercollegiate Sunday at the par-70, 7,118-yard Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Aztecs shot a 2-under-par 278 on the final day of the three-round competition, dropping from a tie for fifth and collectively finishing at 24-under 816.

September 9, 2022 (San Diego) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (1-3-1) cruised to a 5-0 win over UNLV (0-2-2) Friday night on the SDSU Sports Deck. The five goals, which came from five different players, are the most by SDSU since Aug. 30, 2013 (5-0 vs. No. 16 San Diego).

September 6, 2022 (Omaha) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (0-3-1) came back to tie No. 7 Creighton (2-1-1) 2-2 on the road Monday evening. The Blue Jays scored twice early, including one less than a minute into the contest, but SDSU battled back behind two goals from freshman C.J. Fodrey to earn their first result on the road against a top ten team in six years.
