December 1, 2017 (San Diego) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers (5-0) edged the Tacoma Stars 4-3 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, WA. Captain Kraig Chiles added two goals and one assist to his league-leading total of 16 points to pace the Sockers. The win extended San Diego’s lead in the Pacific Division to three games over the Stars and Ontario.

November 30, 2017 (San Diego) -  San Diego State University has revealed its development plans for a 35,000-seat multi-use stadium at the 166 acre site in Mission Valley currently occupied by SDCCU Stadium and its surrounding parking lot. Today’s announcement comes one day after the University released its detail plan for the entire Mission Valley site.

November 27, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State volleyball team had four players earn all-Mountain West honors as announced Monday by the league office. In a vote of the conference’s 11 head coaches, Deja Harris (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Devyn Pritchard (Temecula, Calif.) were both named to the all-MW team, while and Baylee Little (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Alexis Cage (Newport Beach, Calif.) received honorable mention.

November 26, 2017 (Clairemont) - The San Diego Kings may be an expansion, minor division basketball team, but they are quickly proving to be winners.
 
For the third straight outing, the Kings extended a small halftime lead into a decisive victory Saturday (Nov. 25), taking down the visiting Oakland Bayhawks 120-102. The contest made a late move to the Salvation Army Kroc Center when Grossmont College became unavailable due to the holiday.

November 24, 2017 (San Diego) - Rashaad Penny didn't take it personally that he was snubbed by the Doak Walker Award selection committee.

He just went out and ran 22 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns in his final regular-season game to crack the 2,000-yard mark and lead San Diego State to a 35-10 victory against New Mexico on Friday.

November 20, 2017 (San Diego) - Aztecs men’s basketball is undefeated at home and 2-1 overall, a much better start to the season than last year.  Tonight they played host to the Eastern Illinois Panthers in an exhibition game.  The Panthers are known for churning out ex-Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned analyst Tony Romo, so no one’s really heard of their basketball team.  But we’d see them tonight.

November 19, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State senior Rashaad Penny has been named the Walter Camp National FBS Offensive Player of the Week for the second time of the season, the Walter Camp Foundation presented by Generation UCAN announced Sunday. Penny, who also won the award on Sept. 10 for his play at Arizona State, is the only Aztec to win the offensive player-of-the-week award and just the second on either side of the ball (also linebacker Calvin Munson on Sept. 6, 2015).

November 19, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State swimming team finished the A3 Invitational in strong fashion Saturday evening, grabbing first place in five of six events on the final day of action at the Aztec Aquaplex. McKenna Meyer, who captured first place in each of the three finals she competed in while posting a first-place time in the 200 IM preliminaries on Thursday and being a part of a first-place 800 free relay team on Friday, earned Swimmer of the Meet honors for being the highest single-point getter for all female competitors. The Aztecs had a 153.5 point lead heading into the final day, but as of early Sunday morning, official team results are still to be recalculated.

Goalkeeper Chris Toth made 16 saves en route to his first-ever shutout and the first for the Sockers in the MASL era.
