February 26, 2018 (San Luis Obispo) - The San Diego State women’s golf team finds itself in third place at the Bruin Wave Invitational after shooting a combined 34-over par 610 during the first two rounds Tuesday at San Luis Obispo Country Club.

February 26, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State lacrosse team picked up two additional Mountain Pacific Sports Federation awards on Monday as redshirt sophomore Katy Sharretts garnered Defensive Player of the Week accolades, while freshman Bailey Brown collected her second straight Rookie of the Week certificate, as announced by the league office.

February 26, 2018 (San Diego) - Five Aztecs were named to the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field All-Conference team, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. Ashley Henderson was named the Women’s Outstanding Performer of the Meet after winning the 60 and 200-meter dash, while Jalyn Harris, Bonnie Draxler, Marissa Berry and Lisa-Anne Barrow also took home all-conference honors.

February 26, 2018 (Anza-Borrego) – The Anza Borrego Desert Research Center has posted stunning photos on its Twitter feed showing snowfall transforming the desert to a fairytale scene, as well dramatic sun rays, all taken in Sicco Road in Anza-Borrego State Park between Feb. 14 and 22.

February 26, 2018 (San Diego) -- San Diego’s estimated 45,000 Dreamers got a reprieve from possible deportation Monday when the Supreme Court refused to hear a Trump administration challenge.

The court declined to overrule a lower court’s action that temporarily blocked ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program on March 5.

The program, which allows immigrants brought to America illegally as children to live and work in the country, was terminated by President Trump last year, leaving it up to Congress to pass permanent protections.

February 25, 2018 (Honolulu) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team wrapped up its trip to the Aloha State with a challenging 4-0 loss to the University of Hawai’i. The Aztecs’ six-match streak of winning the doubles point was snapped, and SDSU was unable to answer Hawai’i’s initial singles victories.

February 25, 2018 (Malibu) - The San Diego State men’s tennis team ended the weekend on a sour note after dropping a 6-1 decision to Pepperdine in a non-conference dual match Sunday at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center. With the loss, the Aztecs slip to 2-8 on the season, while the Waves move to 2-6 overall.

February 25, 2018 (Boulder, Colo.) - The San Diego State lacrosse team dropped its second game in a row to a ranked opponent, falling to No. 20 Colorado 17-12 on Sunday at Kittredge Field.

The Aztecs (2-2), who lost at 21st-ranked Denver on Friday by an identical count, once again found themselves in pursuit mode against the Buffaloes (2-2) after trailing 10-1 by the 9:44 mark of the first half.

February 25, 2018 (San Diego) - Aztecs baseball is 2-1 in the Tony Gwynn Legacy.  Today they played their fourth game in the annual tournament in a Sunday matinee against Grand Canyon University.  Junior transfer Garrett Hill started for the Aztecs against Jake Repavich for Grand Canyon.

February 25, 2018 (Cathedral City, Calif.) - The San Diego State softball team was held to just one hit in a 2-0 loss to UC Davis in the final game of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Sunday afternoon in Cathedral City, Calif. The Aztecs dropped to 6-10 with the loss, while the Aggies improved to 10-6.

February 25, 2018 (San Diego’s East County) – A cold front is forecast to bring snow down as low as 2,500 feet in East County on Monday and Tuesday, potentially dropping up to six inches on Mount Laguna as well as two to four inches in Julian.  

Smaller amounts of snow could fall on Ramona and communities east of Alpine along Interstate 8, such as Pine Valley, Japatul and Descanso, so check weather reports and carry chains if driving in the mountains during these winter weather conditions. Mountain areas along State Route 94 in the Potrero/Tecate divide area could also be impacted.

February 24, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State baseball team fell victim to a three-run ninth inning, suffering a 5-2 setback against No. 4 Arkansas on Saturday night in the Tony Gwynn Legacy at Tony Gwynn Stadium.  The Aztecs fall to 4-2 on the season, while the fourth-ranked Razorbacks improve to 5-1 in 2018.

February 24, 2018 (Honolulu) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team came up short in Saturday’s neutral site match against Grand Canyon, dropping a 4-2 decision to the Lopes at the University of Hawai’i Tennis Complex. The Aztecs missed an opportunity to improve its doubles point win streak on Saturday after doubles play was cancelled to shorten play time due to the threat of rain in the forecast.

February 24, 2018 (Alberquerque) - The San Diego State track and field team closed out the 2018 Mountain West Indoor Championships with a bang Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Bonnie Draxler took first in the pole vault while setting a Mountain West and San Diego State record and Ashley Henderson took gold in both the 60 and 200 and was named the Mountain West Women's Indoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Performer for the second consecutive year. The Aztecs, who started the day in 11th place, ended up finishing in fourth place.

February 24, 2018 (San Diego) - Behind a season-high 34 fourth quarter points, the San Diego State women’s basketball team (11-16, 5-11 MW) knocked off San José State 85-78 Saturday afternoon. The Aztecs led for the majority of the game and then put the Spartans away by shooting 61 percent in the final quarter.

February 24, 2018 (San Diego) - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers (17-3) tuned-up for the upcoming week of important games by defeating Rio Grande Valley 13-3 before 3,227 at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday night. Kraig Chiles notched two goals and five assists, while Matt Clare and Anthony Medina added three goals each to pace the offense. Chris Toth made eight saves for his ninth win in goal.

The Aztecs improve to 4-1 on the young season, while Arizona dips to 3-2 on the year.

February 23, 2018 (Cathedral City, Calif.) - Katie Byrd (Santee, Calif./West Hills HS) doubled home Jordyn Fick (Ramona, Calif./Ramona HS) in the bottom of the fifth inning and then scored on a single by Molly Sturdivant to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 2-1 win over rv/No. 25 Notre Dame and a split Friday at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. The Aztecs (5-9) have now won four of their last five games.
