March 25, 2019 (San Diego) - Behind a three-run eighth inning and a lights-out performance by Daniel Ritcheson out of the bullpen, the San Diego State baseball team posted a 6-4 comeback win over Arizona at Tony Gwynn Stadium on Monday night. The Aztecs improve to 14-9 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 13-11.

March 25, 2019 (Rancho Santa Fe) - The San Diego State women's golf team finished in third place during the medal round at the Lamkin Invitational on Monday, firing a collective 13-over-par 301 at The Farms Golf Club. With their total, the Aztecs secured a berth in the championship bracket of match play, advancing in the draw with a 5-0 triumph over UC Irvine in their first-round duel later in the afternoon.

March 24, 2019 (San Diego) - San Diego State wrapped up its weekend slate in the San Diego Spring Classic with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Memphis Sunday evening at Aztec Tennis Center.

Jan Kirchhoff supplied the clinching point with a three-set triumph at No. 3 singles to help SDSU win its second straight and move to 7-6 on the season. Meanwhile, the Tigers slip to 10-9 overall with the loss.

March 24, 2019 (Escondido) – Escondido-based Henry Avocado Corporation is recalling avocados after a government inspection at a California packing facility resulted in testing positive for Listeria. The recalled products have stickers reading Bravocado” on the exterior.

Listeria can cause fever, stiffness, nausea, diarrhea and other symptoms. It may be fatal to young children, elderly people or others with weakened immune systems. It can also cause stillbirths and miscarriages in pregnant women.

March 24, 2019 (Albuquerque) - San Diego State baseball was unable to complete a sweep of New Mexico on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Lobos 13-4 at Santa Ana Star Field. SDSU drops to 13-9 (4-3 Mountain West) on the year, while UNM jumps above .500 to 12-11 (4-5 MW).

WARBIRD EXPO & WW II COLLECTORS SWAP MEET APRIL 13 AT GILLESPIE FIELD

March 24, 2019 (El Cajon) – You’re invited to a Warbird Expo and World War II collectors’ swap meet at Gillespie Field in El Cajon on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Tickets for a ride in real WWII aircraft (a historic WWII SNJ-5 Trainer) can also be purchased online or at the event.

This is the largest fundraiser of the year for Air Group One to help keep these historic World War II aircraft flying and fund youth education programs.

Callista Fletcher took first in the 200 meter dash, Bonnie Draxler continued her outstanding senior captain with another first place finish in the pole vault and Nyjari McNeil won the 800 meter run and set a new SDSU record for freshmen.

BICYCLIST HIT BY SUV, SERIOUSLY INJURED IN EL CAJON

March 23, 2019 (El Cajon) – A bicyclist in her 40s who was struck by a sport utility vehicle at Fletcher Parkway and Cuyamaca Street in El Cajon is in a trauma center tonight with serious injuries.
 
Officers from the El Cajon Police department and Heartland Fire Department paramedics responded to calls reporting the collision at 6:25 p.m. They found the victim unresponsive in the street with major injuries. She was transported to a trauma center.

March 23, 2019 (San Diego) - San Diego State snapped a two-match losing streak Saturday with a 4-1 triumph over Drake in the San Diego Spring Classic on the courts of Aztec Tennis Center.

SDSU dropped the doubles point in their third straight outing but stormed back to sweep all four completed singles matches to even their record at 6-6 on the year, while the Bulldogs slip to 14-11 overall.

March 23, 2019 (Albuquerque) - All nine players in the San Diego State starting lineup recorded either multiple hits or drove in multiple runs as the Aztecs posted a season-high 19 runs and 20 hits in a 19-3 drubbing of New Mexico on Saturday afternoon at Santa Ana Star Field. The Aztecs, now winners of eight of their last 10, improve to 13-8 (4-2 Mountain West) on the year while New Mexico falls to 11-11 (3-5 MW).

Aztecs that took first place include Callista Fletcher (100m; 11:40w), Nyjari McNeil (800m; 54.43), Danae Dyer (100m hurdles; 13.80), Paige Comiso (5000m; 18:42.78) and Sarah Absten (heptathlon group B; 4,719 points).
