March 16, 2018 (San Jose) - Taylor Stewart hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning, but it was too little, too late in a 5-2 loss by the San Diego State softball team at San José State Friday afternoon in San Jose, Calif. The Aztecs dropped to 9-18 on the season in the Mountain West opener for the top-two teams in the league last year, while the Spartans improved to 17-9.

March 4, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State softball was originally supposed to play Boston University at 7:00 p.m. last night and ECM was supposed to cover the last game of the San Diego Classic against UCLA today, but due to scheduling changes and rain, SDSU’s only game today is against the Terriers of BU.  Freshman Cali Dolfi started on the hill for BU against sophomore Marissa Moreno for the Aztecs.

February 23, 2018 (Cathedral City, Calif.) - Katie Byrd (Santee, Calif./West Hills HS) doubled home Jordyn Fick (Ramona, Calif./Ramona HS) in the bottom of the fifth inning and then scored on a single by Molly Sturdivant to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 2-1 win over rv/No. 25 Notre Dame and a split Friday at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. February 17, 2018 (San Diego) - Molly Sturdivant capped a four-run third inning with a three-run homer to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 4-1 victory over North Dakota State at the 28th annual Campbell/Cartier Classic Saturday afternoon at SDSU Softball Stadium. The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Aztecs (2-8), who avenged a 2-1 loss on Friday to the same Bison (4-4) team.

October 11, 2017 (San Diego) - Current San Diego State softball senior Alex Formby, and SDSU graduates Ashley Ercolano and Frankie Orlando earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced. To be considered for the award, the student-athletes must have earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the academic year.

The six selections easily broke the Aztecs’ previous best of four (2013 and 2015) as only six teams in the country had more players on their all-region team than SDSU this year.
