January 30, 2019 (Colorado Springs, Colo.) - The Aztec women’s basketball team (6-12, 1-6) fell at Air Force (8-12, 4-5) 75-66 Wednesday evening. Mallory Adams led the Aztecs with 15 points and 12 rebounds, her sixth double-double of the year.

January 29, 2019 (San Diego) - At today’s press conference, San Diego State men’s basketball was joined by baseball head coach Mark Martinez and junior pitcher Logan Boyer.  Aztecs baseball started practice last Friday in anticipation for their season opener on February 15.

Hunter (R-Alpine) has introduced H.R. 483, the “No Funding for Sanctuary Campuses Act.” More than 200 colleges and universities stand to lose major funding if the bill were enacted, likely including the University of California system and California State University campuses such as San Diego State University.

January 24, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State Aztecs women’s basketball team fell to Fresno State 87-81 Wednesday evening inside Viejas Arena. SDSU trailed by 10 points early in the fourth quarter and rallied to tie the game with three minutes left, but the Bulldogs quickly responded with a 6-0 run and improved to 5-1 in league play.

January 22, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women's soccer program is set to conduct an ID camp Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, on the SDSU campus.

The ID camp, which will be led by head coach Mike Friesen and assistant coach Chassion Griggs, is designed for players to get maximum exposure in front of the Aztec coaching staff and allows attendees an opportunity to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental and advanced skills of soccer, an introduction to the tactical elements of the game, as well as exposing campers to the mental aspect of soccer.

Freshman Nyjari McNeil highlighted the evening by setting a new school record in the 600m in her first collegiate race with a time of 1:30.22.

The Aztecs tied the game with 3:25 left, but then saw the Lobos finished the contest on an 8-0 run to seal the victory.

January 14, 2019 (San Diego) - San Diego State defender Aleks Berkolds (Northridge, Calif.) was selected in the third round (68th overall) by the Seattle Sounders in the MLS SuperDraft Monday morning.

“It feels amazing to have this opportunity with such a great club, and also knowing that all the sacrifice I put into this sport is paying off,” Berkolds said. “I’m going to work hard every day to show what I have to offer.”

January 11, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State swimming and diving team finished its 2018-19 home schedule with a 143.5 - 139.5 win over Fresno State at the Aztec Aquaplex on Friday morning.

Alma Thormalm was SDSU's top point scorer, winning both the 50 free (23.95) and 100 free (51.60). The Aztecs started the meet off winning each of the first eight events and logged the top time in 13 of a possible 14 swimming events.

January 1, 2019 (San Diego) - Jeremy Hemsley made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:57 left for San Diego State, which rallied from a 19-point second-half deficit to beat Cal State Northridge 65-60 Tuesday.

Jalen McDaniels had 20 points and 13 rebounds for SDSU (8-5), who outscored the Matadors (6-9) 38-14 during the final 15 minutes.

December 31, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State swimming and diving team capped the 2018 calendar year with a pair of wins over Oregon State (134-120) and Incarnate Word (166-73) on Monday morning at the Aztec Aquaplex. With the pair of wins, SDSU improves to 10-0 in dual meets this season and 34-1 in their last 35 dual meets dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season.
