March 3, 2021 (Peoria, Ariz.) - The smell of freshly cut grass.  The sound of bats hitting balls.  Spring training is in the air and the Padres have kicked it off in Peoria, Arizona, hoping for a better result than last season when they were eliminated in the NLDS by the Dodgers.  Today they played a game against the Brewers.  Drew Rasmussen started for the Brewers against new Padre Blake Snell.

March 3, 2021 (Somis, Calif.) -  The San Diego State women’s golf team finished in 11th place at the three-day Bruin Wave Invitational, which wrapped up Wednesday at the Saticoy Country Club on the par-72, 6,273-yard course layout.

February 28, 2021 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team opened their 2021 season with a dual-match win, topping UC Irvine 6-1 Sunday, Feb. 28 at Aztec Tennis Center.

February 28, 2021 (Boise) - The Aztec women’s basketball team (7-16, 5-12) fell at Boise State (13-8, 10-8) 85-44 Sunday afternoon. Sophia Ramos poured in 23 points on 8-for-10 shooting but the Broncos shot an efficient 51 percent from the field to take the series finale.

February 27, 2021 (San Diego) - Following a two-week hiatus, the San Diego State men’s tennis team made a big splash on its return to the courts Friday, posting a pair of dual-match victories 4-2 and 5-0 in a doubleheader sweep of visiting UC San Diego at Aztec Tennis Center.

February 26, 2021 (San Diego) - San Diego State had its three-match winning streak halted on Friday in a 3-1 loss to Nevada (25-20, 14-25, 20-25, 15-25) on Aztec Court at Peterson Gym.

February 26, 2021 (Boise) - The Aztec women’s basketball team (7-15, 5-11) came from behind to beat Boise State (12-8, 9-8) 74-72 on the road Friday afternoon. The Aztecs closed out the game on a 7-0 run highlighted by Mallory Adams’ three-pointer with 11 seconds left, which gave SDSU their first lead of the second half.

February 24, 2021 (Los Angeles) - The San Diego State softball team was shut out, 14-0, in five innings at No. 1/1 UCLA Wednesday afternoon at Easton Stadium. It was the first loss of the season for the Aztecs (5-1), who were off to their first 5-0 start since 2005.

February 21, 2021 (Tempe) - The San Diego State lacrosse team fell to the Arizona State Sun Devils 23-10 in Tempe, Ariz. Sunday, Feb. 21.

Freshman Avonna Usher and redshirt senior Lexi Tan each led the Aztecs’ scoring with two goals apiece while six other Aztecs each added a score to the board including seniors Julia Sheehan, Taylor Sullivan, Bailey Brown, and Emily Resnick, junior Cailin Young, and sophomore Camdyn O’Donnell. Tan’s stat line included two ground balls and three caused turnovers, a category in which she led the team throughout the game. Resnick assisted on two of the Aztecs’ goals while snagging two ground balls, grabbing two draw controls, and forcing a turnover. ASU’s Carly Adams scored eight of the Sun Devils’ 23 goals while adding three ground balls, a caused turnover, and a draw control. Katie Brodsky was Arizona State’s other leading scorer, adding four goals and two ground balls.

February 21, 2021 (San Diego) - The San Diego State softball team completed a series sweep over UC Davis with a 7-0 victory Sunday afternoon at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs improved to 5-0 with the win, matching their best start in program history (2005).

February 20, 2021 (Las Vegas/Colorado Springs) - The San Diego State swimming and diving team earned a third-place finish at the 2021 MW Championships Saturday, falling to first-place UNLV by 40 points and second-place Nevada by just 31 points. For her efforts throughout the meet, Klara Thormalm was named 2021 Mountain West Championships Swimmer of the Meet.

February 20, 2021 (Los Angeles) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (0-0-1) played UCLA (1-1-1) to a 1-1 draw on the road Saturday evening.

UCLA struck first, scoring in the 73^rd minute, and then SDSU’s Blake Bowen tied it up five minutes later after redirecting a free kick.

February 20, 2021 (San Diego) - The San Diego State softball team swept a doubleheader with UC Davis Saturday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (4-0) used their bats in a 10-4 win in the first game before relying on pitching in a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.
