April 6, 2019 (Reno) - Behind Julian Escobedo's 3-for-4 performance and Justin Goossen-Brown's eight-inning start, the San Diego State baseball team defeated Nevada, 6-2, on Saturday night. Now with the series tied, the Aztecs improved to 17-14 (6-6 Mountain West), while the Wolf Pack drop to 16-14 (6-8 MW).

April 5, 2019 (Reno) - After erasing a 7-2 deficit with three runs in the sixth and two runs in the ninth, the San Diego State baseball team ultimately fell after Nevada's Wyatt Tilley hit a bases-loaded walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to end the game, 8-7. SDSU falls to 16-14 (5-6 Mountain West) while Nevada improves to 16-13 (6-7 MW).

The Aztecs (15-20, 3-7 MW) had four errors in the game, which led to five of the Wolf Pack’s (21-12, 6-1 MW) seven runs.

April 5, 2019 (Las Vegas) - The Aztec track and field team tied for second in the Mountain West Challenge Friday afternoon at UNLV. SDSU took first in eight events and saw Jordyn Bryant set a SDSU freshman record in the shot put. Bryant had a throw of 49’ 9.25” (15.17m) to top Jasmine Burrell’s record of 49’ 6.25” set in 2012.

April 3, 2019 (Corvallis, Ore.) - The San Diego State baseball team fell to Oregon State 8-1 to finish the two-game series with a split.  SDSU falls to 16-13, while the Beavers improve to 20-6-1.

The Beavers scored quickly to distance themselves from the Aztecs early on, scoring four runs before the first out of the game was recorded. Despite the rough start, Daniel Ritcheson settled in afterward, retiring each of the next seven batters he faced.

March 31, 2019 (Tempe) - The No. 21 Aztec water polo team won an overtime thriller 10-9 over San Jose State Sunday afternoon in their final game of the ASU Invitational. After neither team scored in either overtime periods or the first period of sudden death, Shelby Kraft scored the game-winning goal 23 seconds into the eighth period. The Aztecs have now won five of their last six games.

UNLV scored the first six runs of the game, starting with a triple by Kiley Harrison in the top of the second inning that scored Mia Trejo.

The SDSU defense has carried them the last two games. Goalkeepers Maura Cantoni and Mia Harris have combined for five shutout quarters and allowed just three goals over the last two games.

March 29, 2019 (San Diego) - Molly Sturdivant hit a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning in San Diego State’s 5-4 loss to UNLV Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. 

Down by a 5-0 score, the Aztecs (15-17, 3-4 MW) loaded the bases on a fielder’s choice, single by Katie Byrd (West Hills) and a Rebel (23-7, 4-2 MW) error with two outs. Sturdivant then took a 2-0 pitch over the left-center field fence to bring SDSU within one run. Shelby Thompson followed with a walk, but UNLV pitcher Jenny Bressler struck out Jessica Cordola to end the game.

March 28, 2019 (San Diego) - The No. 21 Aztec water polo team extended their win streak to three games after winning a defensive battle 4-1 over Santa Clara Thursday afternoon.

Maura Cantoni turned in an outstanding performance in goal and collected 12 saves and allowed a season-low one goal. Hannah Carrillo scored two of the Aztecs’ four goals. Shelby Kraft had a goal and an assist and Maddie Higginson scored one goal.
